For those not aware the reason I’m sourcing these parts out now is my dad installed a 392 Hemi back in the 80s. He placed the 383 on an engine stand and sourced out several parts from the scrap yard to make things work at the time (Rad, hoses, fan, etc).

Luckily he never cut up the car in anyway to make it fit but I do remember the motor was taller and the carb nearly touched the hood and he couldn’t even install an air cleaner on it.
He talked about getting another hood for the car but it never happened and the car just sat for years and years.

So this is why I’m sourcing these parts out now cause they got tossed along the way and he could not be bothered finding them to return the car back to the way it was.

The 392 was removed in 2008 when the resto began and I had no interest in keeping it or using it.
I believe it came out of a Chrysler Imperial.
The body guy bought the motor from us and a customer of his was going to install it into a pull truck.

The motor looked cool and was massive but not how I wanted the car.
I was just thankful he kept the original 383 after all those years.

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Flashfire coating for win.
Compare that to before on page 10.

Some cool new products out there. FiTech EFI that fits a stock 6 Pack intake.

Lots of cool stuff out there including the Holley Sniper for it but I’m not ready to go down that road just yet.
I’m gonna give this a try and see how well it will runs and drive for now.

We have nothing but high praise for the Holley Sniper, both 4bbl n 2bbl version.

More pieces to the puzzle have arrived.
I had to get that billet water neck housing with a new 180 stat and water pump.
It’s just right there in the centre of the motor when you open the hood and it’s really a nice piece.

The balancer currently on the car looks like it’s been hit with a steel hammer to many times so I found a nice OEM replacement and sanded it down, primed and painted it to match.
