I'm finding it too stressful doing annual safety inspection in the new system for commercial vehicles. They put too much emphasis of taking clear photo's with the acquired tablet with a camera quality of my mom's flip phone. Constant reminders the photo's aren't clear enough and a recent threat for punishment. (not to me personally yet but to all the Techs. we are techs now) I spend hours taking a few photo's to the point I forget to check the equipment out thoroughly. They supply images and demos from clearly ideal situations and in many cases one tech holding a gage and someone else taking the photo. It's insane or I'm insane. In the rain today I cracked and sent them my "I'm not a photographer message and the tablet is not a camera message!" Been in this industry since 1995 and I thought it had already gone to the dogs: What's after dogs? I'm sure the response will be less than caring and more like "Well maybe this isn't for you!" That's the mentality I'm expecting. Should get a response by tomorrow.

    Why did the forum disappear?

Lately, got issues with people that get caught saying something utterly dumb, stupid, and mean, only to defend it with “I was joking, just joking! Where’s your sense of humour?”
Or start a sentence with “I’m not (insert whatever bad adjective here)”, only to continue the phrase with “…but”

I’m on a lot of meds getting over Covid (again). The above statements may be due to staying home and watching too much news.
    Carry On.

The lengths they've gone to overhaul the system is ridiculous, talked to a couple shops when looking to get Ross's truck safety, they are in absolute turmoil, have no idea if they'll try and figure it out or drop safely checks. No doubt too many out there righting paper for vehicles that should not be on the road but this new system is ridiculous. Only the govt could fuck something up so badly.

It baffles me Rick. A lot of the old timers like me are just not going to transition to the new program. I'm not sure how much actually money auto shops make doing safeties or how many they do a year. If the volume is low for that aspect I would be inclined to not get involved. I fear a little what it is going to do to the used car market. I've heard some truck shops have increased the cost of doing a safety by as much as $2000 per vehicle. I have over two hundred pieces of equipment to safety each year so it make sense for me to join in, I have a good customer now for over 20yrs and endure because I don't want to fuck them up. They've implemented a program to try and curve fraud in our sector but the way I see it the problem is not law bidding but the law makers. They spend all this money on a shinny new boat and ride all over the lake to catch minnows when the big fish are right under the dock. "Prime Trucking" is the most recent glaring example of how some people from a particular country bend all the rules and fuck up all our systems and even admit are laws are too weak and continue to get away with it. We minnows are the scape goat to the public to make it look like the government is doing something about their own problem and we get punished.

I'm getting worked up now —I better go have a coffee! LOL

regulators are like children who put a bandaid over a scratched knee, then a second just in case, then 3 more to hold down the first two, then 5 more. The big difference is these kids never grow up and just keep adding bandaids and each band aid becomes a block of purchased votes which then prevents ripping off those bandaids.

They only get added, never removed and eventually you can't move because your leg won't bend.

Fraudsters have always been in plain sight, just had to look and enforce the rules / laws we already had in place. But no no no, had to implement a system that fucks over those that were already playing by the rules.

Saw a Cyber Truck today exiting off the 407 —couldn’t react in time to get a pic. That 407 is a kick in the bag to everyone using the 401 daily.

I’m finding the Mach e has a little too much negative caster. Great on smooth surface but a real unpleasant ride on the 407 and rougher uneven roadways

Edit: did a bit of research and found that there is possibly no caster adjustment on the premium model Mache. I’m certain it needs this corrected as it handles very poorly in some circumstances. Haven’t been able to find out too much info tho. Mache forums are a bit comical lol. Would not be comfortable with this car in a track at high speed and likely wouldn’t reach its potential on the lack of caster adjustment alone.
