Hand sanitizer in a pinch as it's usually alcohol, beware of any possible additives in the sanitizer and know that there are different levels (%'s) of alcohol in rubbing alcohol. Higher percentage 99% is better. Rubbing alcohol also works for cleaning up your skin, or your pets. Then wipe up your finished job and apply whatever you regularly use to keep the sheen on your finish the same. Done and done!

My wife's Rav had tree sap on the hood and top. I purchased Silverwax Tree Leak and it works great. It's a canadian company and available at Canadian Tire.

This year I tried a few products after coming back from the cottage. Fastest and easiest to use turned out to be hand sanitizer gel. Stays in place, doesn't mark the clear coat, evaporates clean and if you get sap on your hands, just use the hand sanitizer and it's gone. Didn't take much either even though I did 3 cars.
That CT tire above looks interesting.
