That's ok - you got an interest free loan from taxpayers.

You have to pay CRA XXX dollars now that you could have paid last year? The fact that you kept it for so long means they lent you the money for that period - there is a cost of funds both ways.

payroll tax is like the frog in the pot, you don't feel it nearly as much as if you have to pay the whole nut at the end of the year. Paying a big chunk all at once makes you think a lot harder on where those tax dollars are going.
Oh, it's felt when you see how much goes out to them every month....and it's not spent well.

Getting money back which doesn't mean much I maxed out my RRSP contributions which is about the same as a decent little car and the money I paid in taxes for 2018 makes me feel suicidal. Like what's the point of working 12+ hours a day to move ahead in life only to support governments that throw it away at life-long welfare shit and programs I could give a rats ass about.

I used to get money back, then I became self employed, now it seems all I do is pay.

funny, my last year working for somone else, vs first year self employed same job same house, same pay, same wife and kids, and went from getting a small mount back to having to pay. tax stuff stresses me out so I pay an accountant to deal with it.

I always get back due to some RRSP contributions anywhere from 5 - 10 k back. But yes it should be zero and use my money monthly not yearly. But it’s nice getting a check once a year like this.....

My wife is a highly qualified and trained finance person with all the designations much to my chagrin. lol I trust her to do what's right, but at the same time I'm upset that she won't let me get a 150k car lol
