    Turbo flutter

turbo flutter help - my 2015 EB is getting turbo flutter. it just started even though i've been running my JLT CAI and tune for a while. all the research i've done on cause and fix suggest a BOV to better release the air pressure.

i know there's not a lot turbo drivers on here but does anyone have any recommendation on manufacturers and what to look for? it looks like a reasonable install but i might look for help with that too.

    thanks

Usually a by-pass valve is better on a metered air cars, however I think the current ecoboost engines are speed density. If that is correct you can run either with little issue. I prefer BPV's personally cause I don't like how loud most BOV's are.

It's best to do some research on the ecoboost directed forums. I think turbosmart makes a bov for the ecoboost stangs, i have a turbosmart BPV on my svo based mustang and i love it.

A turbo: Exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

Forge makes some great products. Take a look into that product. Not sure if they make something for the ecoboost but you never know with these Brits.

Looks like the valve is controlled by the ECU, according to the description.
FWIW, Synapse makes the fastest BOV/BPV. Customer service sucks, but the product is top-notch, the operation is unaffected by pressure and customization (i.e. boost increase) doesn't involve guesswork and spring changes.

Looks like this unit addresses (read "bypasses") the ECU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDrjhSPGpJ0

So this is where I'm at. I've been messaging with tune+ and Bama/American Muscle and it looks like the fix is a cold side charge pipe with a proper bov.

American Muscle sells this kit that they recommend http://www.americanmuscle.com/cpe-co...v-2015eco.html
quality seems good, TiAL's reputation is solid.

I mentioned it to Tune+ and he said i'll still get compressor surge with that kit and should reach out to MAP http://www.maperformance.com/ and ask them to make me a charge pipe with a Synapse DV on it.

AM - i like the idea of a kit for tested fit, finish with good products cp-e and TiAL.
MAP - my priority is to fix the issue so if MAP is better, i'll go that route. i just don't know why it would be better.
    any opinions on this?
