I referenced a book previously called 'Smart Thinking". In it is described habits. Breaking a habit on willpower alone is extremely hard if not impossible. Replacing one habit with another based on the stimulus/response of the habit you're trying to end is key to success. You're doing that now by replacing the cigarette with the vape. When giving up the vape try to replace it with something, not simply quit by willpower, otherwise you'll run the risk of reverting right back to cigarettes.
On a side note, I've never been a smoker but have considered picking up vaping with nicotine. It's a proven thing that nicotine is helpful in the creative process for writers. I occasionally do some writing (awkwardly) and can use any help if I want to improve it.
While vaping is certainly more harmful than just breathing, it's certainly less harmful than cigarettes.
