In psych terms, men with dark triad traits. Not totally wrong though, just written in the most negative terms.
Here's the thing, women often select the "bad boy". Tats, prison time, guys who demonstrate a facility for violence. Men who are capable of defending them. Hybristophilia isn't present in men. Isn't present in all women, but is only present in women.
Men subconsciously play to this dynamic as dark triad "get's da gurlz".
My water bill is on auto billing from my bank account. I've been doing a little long overdue book keeping and discovered a billing error. At the time of the eror my account had a much higher balance and a lot of cash flow. The smallish error took place on a monthly basis, for 30 months. In total worth over 3k.
They're refunding me the overbill amount. Once that's in my account I'm going to push for the same interest they charge for overdue accounts (19% per year), plus compensation for inflation.
They refunded me the overbilling immediately without question, which is a clear indication they know they fucked up and are vulnerable.
Billing for the city is administered through my electricity provider. Each of the several people I've spoken to there have said this is the biggest "mistake" they've seen and all are long term employees.
Will be interesting if they play that game - my guess the T&Cs probably have a section on billing errors and a 30 or 60 day period to check and report on errors, to limit their liability (similar to what's on your credit card statement) - that way they transfer the responsibility to checking to the customer.
maybe so, but the implied deal with auto billing is "I give you access to my bank account, you don't steal from me".
If they don't make good then I'll force them to revert to the most onerous time consuming payment and billing methods possible, and generally make myself the maximum asshole with all manner of requests. I've never been to a city hall meeting but am feeling the pull of civic participation.
I havent driven it since my first drive, just havent had the time - cant wait to drive it when the weather clears up...I'm still smiling like this pic every time i pass by it in the garage.

Actually I have the time - address and I'll drive it for you, no charge..........
Finally got car out. Felt like it was hesitating a bit outta storage. Swapped plugs but had run out of TR6's on the shelf so running the TR55s I had stocked for now till I order fresh TR6s. Noticed it was running a bit leaner than normal on the afr's and sounded a little louder, wonder if the exhaust is loosened up. Always something but happy to be driving it.
^ Plus old gas can do funny things.
Just heard that La Paloma meets are done.
Are the Burrito Boyz friday night meets still a thing?
Yup best to just drive the old out taking it easy.
Yep. Genny filled and ran with premium and stabilizer in October. Power outage two weeks ago and it would not start. Took a whiff of ether to get it going.
Spoke with the repair shop and they said yep seeing it a lot. Fuel isn’t lasting 6 months.
No idea what the plan is going to be seems like a way to lead to dumping un used gas
Sounds great for the environment
Ya, since they got rid of non-ethanol fuels it doesn't last long.
One of my intake pipe to TB clamps left the chat. Hoping it was leaking and thats the cause of the lean condition cuz its on a fresh tank of 91 and still creeping into the 12s
When I drain the fuel systems and carbs completely I get a good start months or even years later. I find the older small engines made before "emissions" and other improvements all tolerate older gas no problem (older gas with a gulp of Seafoam). Any small engine made in the last 15 or so years is super finicky in my experience.
I have a 25-30 Y/O genny that was drained and sat for at least 15 years. Put it on the bench, did an oil change and inspection. Fresh starter battery and fresh gas, fired right up. Drained everything and slept comfortably knowing the hum of my genny will attract scavengers within range following the great pre election grid outage.
No Sex Tonight https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/e...1/16/1f625.png
I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.
FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my wife and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me."
I said "WHAT??!! What was that?!"
So she says the words that every husband on the planet dreads to hear... "You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?" Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.
The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said let’s get a pair for each outfit. We went onto the jewelry department where she picked out pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you...she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.
Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier." I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel like it." Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled----WHAT?" I then said "honey, I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial means as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?"
Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either. Women......!
Expecting a woman to think and behave like a man is about as practical as expecting a man to think and behave like a penguin. Society tells us men and women are the same which the majority accept without question, while at the same time we all inherently know they're different, just like exemplified in the the above. Sure it's funny, but also has one foot in the "all the same" camp, with other foot in the "different" camp. Frustration lies in one camp, you decide.
Did an oil change this morning on the family hauler. I was surprised by the amount of oil caught in the catch can that I installed only 3000 kms ago. Honestly thought maybe 2-3 table spoons worth of oil would have been caught. Should have installed one years ago, especially with this engine being direct injection.

^ Especially important in a DI engine.
Been contemplating catch cans on both my 3.5eb f150 and the 1.5eb bronco sport
Pros and cons?
Do they need to be model and engine specific.
Would ford warrenty care?
There is absolutely no con to using one.
Another upside that hasn't been mentioned, once you have a baseline of how much oil it's catching, switch to a heavier oil (10w30 syn) and you can monitor difference a heavier oil makes. From what we are seeing, the average amount of oil accumulating in the can is reduced by 60%+ (in some it reduced to almost zero).
IMO the amount captured is a comment on the effectiveness of the the PCV system, not the lubrication system. I'd be making oil selection based on lube requirements and whatever the catch can captures is a cost of doing business. Oil flow is what's needed to lube. Oil pressure is easy to measure, oil flow isn't. Oil pressure is a proxy for oil flow. if you have pressure flow is assumed. You can get pressure against a blocked passage. The gauge will be happy, the component being starved not so much.
Normal oil pressure in my 1UZ is 4psi at idle, but the oiling system is adequately flowing. If I pull the valve covers one head is varnished, the other clean simply because the PCV is drawing from only one head.
In some cases the PCV contributes to the problem but bulk of what ends up in the catch can is directly related to how poor a job your oil is actually doing and in the case of a DI engine, it's a cost the engine can not deal with. It's ridiculously easy to test, replace the 0W or 5W oil with something thats heavier (no not 5w30 instead of 5w20, move to 10w30) and you will instantly see a difference, a difference that will continue to cut down on the sludge the can catches. My Coyote is what we typically see, barely a trace in the can on heavier oil, yes even after a full day of lapping with it buzzing 7-7500 rpm all day. Same results in everything we've tested. Spin off of all this, your now using oil that will actually protect the engine long term.
There's more to oil than viscosity. With my turbo diesel van I was specifically warned off of Mobil for high NOAC. Dealer and OEM uses and spec's Mobil 1 for fuel economy and CAFE, don't care about fouling. I got a raft of info from a Mercedes mechanic and diesel guru on this. High catch can capture might be related to oil volatility.
The mfg does not give a rats behind about you and how long your engine lives, CAFE CAFE CAFE is all that matters and of course getting bulk of the iron they put out to hang in long enough to get the hell outta warranty. So many of the mfgs are seeing premature catastrophic engine failures these days.
Rick, what oil weight are you using in Kath's Santa Fe? I've been using Pennzoil Syn 5w-30, since it was new. Thinking of switching to 10w-30 for the next oil change after seeing the amount of oil caught in the catch can.
It's on 10w30 full syn with OE oil filter (bulk pak off Amazon).
Is there a reason for that rich?
Assume to be kinder and have more room for safety with stock bottom end.
Man 21-23 Mach 1's have an impressive road presence. I don't often desire the new stuff but those, those are special I think.
