I just thought it would be cheaper
The ride now gets 630 km on $60 ( have to double check) But yes , cost of maintenance and raising gas prices still to consider.
Don’t get me wrong, love your purchase. The high commander has been discussing making the switch to Ev , it’s that initial buy in price that’s getting me.

all charging cost would be extra as would all oil changes ect.
as fuel prices go up the math would get better but my concern is long term costs. my last edge got me to almost 300 000k, with nothing but oil changes brakes and a couple wheel bearings.
as more options hit the market hopefully prices will get more reasonable and gently used becomes an option. but im also reading about used Teslas needing new batteries at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars.
Exactly!
Savings seem “theoretical “ to me at this point
I.e $75g ( I think Tesla website)compared to my $50 g vehicle / $25g in the hole
It’s not like I get a cheque upfront lump sum for 10yr+ savings (ev vs my gas vehicle)
And even after 10+ yrs of use compared to my gas vehicle if I managed to save 25g over that period I’m just braking even( purchase price) - wouldn’t even see that “ savings”.
- maybe loooonnngg term ev use ok (savings)but if you got say “ half tank or quarter tank” of life left I don’t know if I’ll ever make the switch at this point.

Well not only that I’m afraid I may be “enticed “, $2/3+L gas, auto manufacturers producing EV only or mandating EV .
Everyone wants some return on their investment ( tech)
Maybe I’m not an Ev guy anyway, never once looked at it as “save the planet” perspective, only through “ my wallet” perspective :)

^^ Lmao , yes^^
So let’s see if I get this right
So (1) I have to charge the battery and go out more cause this is how I save money compared to filling up my gas vehicle
(2) in doing so I’m out and I’m not just gonna play “pocket pool” in some parking lot, meaning wifey gonna want a Latte, JR going want a bubble tea, and daughter gonna want some Tim bits; even worse if they go to the mall.
Going out meaning more exposure to covid let’s just say.
So the damn money I’m supposedly saving is being spent!and now I’m increasing my chances of covid infection?
But don’t mind me, I ‘m trying to see Laurence to see his maybe I have a Ev next month :)
