[QUOTE=newbiestangowner;325084]You crazy? I just figured out how the damn clips worked after 10 years, ain’t no way I’m running some extra wire.
What happened to just plug and it works?
And who’s the jack ass that started this Xmas light thing anyway?

Don’t listen to that Hammer guy ...he hotwires the wind turbines for free power ;)
nothing works that way anymore - many of you may not know this but at one time you just turn on your TV and it worked - turned a dial and you got a channel, now you need to boot it up - find a game boy device that requires two hands and an xbox - knowledge of how a the hand held thingy works - hack into an account and then maybe if your lucky you can find something to watch...lol - at least that's the way it is for me hahaha so sadly like an old man I have to hope my children are in a good mood with full happy bellies and they will come a find me something to watch and pass me some aero-roots and a glass of prune juice.

Heated Steering Wheel.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
When I first saw the heated wheel on a 7-Series BMW in the early 2000s I thought "how ridiculous is that?". And then you quickly realize it isn't!
“Murphy’s Law” eh Fkn guy!! Last call , gotta go , planned an evening ....I think my e-brake binding hope I can hobble home
One of those options, have it once and will never own another winter driven vehicle without, love mine as well. Extra nice remote starter turns both it and heated seat on.

Or are you like me and when the work truck breaks down you get to take the personal?
My edge was on fo service so the F150 was the “work” truck today. Got to enjoy the heated wheel and seat while working

Absolute worst experience with CAA , I think he concussed himself when he told me to get out of the truck & I opened my door on his head ...didn’t get off on right foot . I was like fuk this I don’t wanna see what we might hit , I couldn’t see out of his windshield & neither could he . Cut countless cars off , drifted , tried gauging me at drop off . Maybe he wuz having an off day & I get it he’s trying to make a living & prolly hates what he’s doing so I’m not gonna pursue anything with CAA . That bump on his head will be a reminder not to be a dik to people.
Change at CAA for tows, car broken down and you want to just take home and perhaps fix yourself or give some time to decide what to do, they are now labeling that a "convenience tow" no longer covered under your membership. In both cases we've seen in the last few weeks, push them on the phone and they back down saying they'll make an exception "this one time only" but are making a notation on your account that your aware tows like that are no longer covered.
Far from convenience tow lol , had many dealings with CAA & they’ve been very fair straightforward....this guy not so much
& vehicle left at a commercial lot not my driveway
Just letting others know things are changing at CAA that may make a new membership less appealing to some.
Changes we've seen have been over the last few weeks, thought first one was a fluke, happened again this week.
Still fully covers your broken down on the road and tow to a shop for repairs. Not sure how they figure refusing tow home is gonna fly in the long run. For some, matter of figuring out where they are going to have fixed, for at least some others, saving up until they can afford the repair.
Combo of that and perhaps peeps abusing the intention of having CAA. Can guarantee at least some of the tows are fresh as is purchases with plates slapped on from another vehicle to get it home or to shop for certify. Some might even claim a break down when just wanting it moved from one storage location to another. Be interesting to read the CAA blerb on what is and is not covered.
Way back I had my F350 dually towed to Toronto because the trans was weak. I drove to meet the tow truck guy and he dropped me at a shopping center in Scarborough. Does that count as misuse of CAA... LOL I have used them to tow my broken down car home though. I would be pissed if they told me no.
It's in their terms and conditions. Tow to service facility.
Quote:
Towing will be provided if attempts to make a vehicle safely operable at the roadside/location have been unsuccessful. Flatbeds or dollies will be used when required as per the AAA/CAA towing guide. Towing will be provided within an allotted Membership kilometres in CAA North & East Ontario territory in any direction from the point of disablement to the repair facility of a Member’s choice. Classic Members receive four tows up to 10 km, Plus Members receive four tows up to 200 km and Premier Members receive one tow up to 320 km and four tows up to 200 km. Towing beyond this set amount will be at the Member’s expense. A charge per kilometre will be applied by the service facility to any additional mileage that exceeds a Member’s coverage (service coverage varies by territory). For areas outside of CAA North & East Ontario territory, CAA Plus & Premier Memberships may provide a set number of kilometres of towing with the balance being charged to the Member. The Member may in turn request consideration of reimbursement from CAA North & East Ontario for the balance.
Looks like the ahole that hit me is going to court to fight his charge. Tool....
