Maybe when the 5yr contracts are up with the existing tracks on the schedule they can work in Rd America, Rd Atlanta or some other road course. For now the Charlotte Infield is better than not having one at all, but damn it is not suited to these cars and drivers.
^ Agreed, only real option for now but definitely better options out there.
Although, with it's current downward spiral, will anyone care about Nascar in 5 years?
Ya.....may not even watch next year with the exiting of Dale Jr. Missed last 2 races.
The Coca-Cola 600 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway is in a delay because of inclement weather in the area around the 1.5-mile track in Concord, North Carolina.
A storm moved over the track after 143 of a scheduled 400 laps, bringing out the red flag when lightning was reported in the area. The race was under caution at the time due to an on-track incident.
NASCAR Air Titans are at the ready to dry the track, and NASCAR.com will be your source for updates. According to NASCAR officials there are 12 Air Titans and 10 jet driers on location.
At nearly the midway point of Stage 2, Martin Truex Jr. is your leader. Truex, who led 392 laps and won this event last year, has led a race-high 53 laps. Second at the time of the red flag is Jimmie Johnson, followed by Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth.
#3 car to victory lane.

I stopped watching when Larson was out. After the Nurburgring 24hr, Monaco, Indy 500 I kinda had enough racing for one day.
When I turned on Seinfeld and the race was still going I watched the end. It was cool to see the #3 back in victory lane. Strange that it had been so long.
I like Dillon, he's not as douchey as some other guys in the series at the moment. Always nice to see a first win too, so much emotion.
