I went the other way. All my urban farming has tenderized my back. I had to take a couple days off core exercises.

I agree, trying to see if i can borrow a santa fe from work ... getting in and out of the G70 is exhausting ... i never thought i would be one of the guys complaining about back pain. I was deadlifting 300 plus pounds for reps just a few weeks ago with no issues ...I guess you cant outrun time.
naproxin is an NSAID, which can be helpful for inflammation related pain, but not great as a general pain reliever.
It's a COX1 and COX2 inhibitor with all the associated side effects of stomach lining compromise, platelet production suppression, kidney function suppression. I used it decades ago and got little benefit and lots of side effects.
When using an NSAID (anti-inflammatory) I go to Celebrex, which is a COX2 inhibitor only and friendlier on platelets, kidneys, stomach. COX2 is what you want to suppress for inflammation, not COX1.
For general pain relief I'd look elsewhere, not to NSAIDs
as with all drugs, and all things in general, there's no free lunch. Everything has a side effect, even air and water. In NASIDs I find Celebrex more effective than Naproxin, but use it with caution.
I've been dealing with pinched nerve pain in my neck for 10 months now. I've tried every pain reliever there is. (not really). My first try was Lyrica, No effect on pain but sexual side effects. I've had naproxen 500 and tylenol 3. Naproxen was limited on it's effectivness. Tylenol 3 is much better. I also have percocet which is effective but short lived relief (about 3 hrs) CBD creams and oral dose oils are ineffective and thc gummies are also ineffective. Imho I would stick with Tylenol 3 for my pain. For reference I was taking 2 naproxen and 2 tylenol 3 together 3 times a day (12 hr) in the beginning. I've been able to get down to 1 or 2 Tylenol 3 or 1 percocet with a rum and coke chaser when pain is bad.
T3's constipate. Tylenol, not great for the liver, naproxen, platelet, kidney stomach.
I'd suggest trying some CBD variant. IMO, decent effectiveness, and minimal side effects.
Before all of that though I'd suggest going after the cause of the pain versus treatment of the symptom. Free advice, and you get what you pay for.
Tried every kind of cbd there is( well lots of them, my friend works at a dispensary). No effect at all. Only solution is not recommended by 3 of my 4 dr's. That is a spinal fusion of my c5, c6 and c7 vertebrae. Resulting in severe loss of mobility in my neck. C6 is 2.8 mm displaced. Working on my 4th different physio, Massage. So far so good. As explained to me in very very dumbed down terms, "vertebrae is kind of like a grape and constantly shrinking" Thus the reduction in pain over the last10 months. At this point surgery is a last resort. I can live day to day usually with no need for pain relief. A bonus to T3 is not having to waste time taking a shit every day. lol Your knowledge of drugs is vast compared to mine. Thanks.
I'll see your C5 - C7 and raise you a L1-L5
I have steady level 1-3 pain, for the last 35 years with occasional flare ups to 11. I don't use drugs for this pain but have found the best relief with exercise and flexibility. Rock climbing works best for me as it combines strength, and flexibility along with a little bit of fun. For the cervical section, no idea what exercise will work. I would imagine looking down at a phone is not great.
I do have other squeaks and rattles that do get pharma care. Synthetic lube for the shoulder and Celebrex (very sparingly) for the knees and tendons.
I don't consider a good "evacuation" to be a waste of time. To the contrary I pay a lot of attention to diet and hydration in an effort for a daily, and notice a difference when there's a traffic jam. If you have pets I'm sure you notice an uptick in happiness after a big message gets sent. We're no different. I occasionally "time travel" with enough product for the next day and really feel great, although a little extra hungry.
