May be a nothing burger but no harm arming yourself with information (I think they're soft and spread like sludge).

During my Health Unit days, I always recommended some form of treatment for a dug well. The water tests may be ok, but sooner or later you will have un-invited guest in your water. If the water is clear, an ultra-violet water treatment system is effective and cheap.
You can drill if you want, it's a much safer system as it's protected with it's metal casing. If you have enough water supply, a dug well with treatment is fine.

My post notes pellets which is the post-processing product. There were some Ontario court cases a few years back from people living around farms that were using the pellets/sludge and claims it was making them sick (primarily during the application period; airborne). IIRC I believe some of what I read was based on farming areas outside of Orangeville. This article refers to use of it in/around Barrie. Maybe things have changed now?
