Depending on the vinyl used, yes can be a bastage to get off. Also found, gentle heat from the get go is best so as to not turn the vinyl brittle which in turn sees it comes off in uber tiny - mega frustrating bits.
Yup got brittle as fak I think I was overzealous with heat out of frustration, yes Scrape I know I know
While I've got a heat gun, always start with an old hair dryer on stripe and decals and move up to the gun if req'd.
