real business models and assets doesn't necessarily mean you can't still lose money on a stock, stocks can drop for "real" companies too, if there was no risk, everybody would/could just throw their money at any company and expect to make gains, some business models fail even if they are well thought out...sometimes shit just happens or goes in an unplanned direction due to unforeseen changing circumstances...this is where the "Gamble" comes in IMO, you take a chance on something that becomes a great success, you gambled and won, you take a chance on something that goes the other way, you gambled and lost
