My interest in Nascar is dwindling. It wasn't very long ago that I wouldn't miss a race, but now I may tune in for a few minutes or not at all. The whiny drivers, the mediocre product, the late start times, the ever changing rules and the way they are applied has me tuning out. I'll watch a few races when the next gen car comes out, but if the product doesn't improve I'll be even less inclined to tune in.

“Describe a hack. I don’t know what a hack is,” Hendrick said. “But you know, he’s won four races this year. Denny’s won two. I think Denny just lost it Sunday and, you know, Alex races everybody clean. He’s a good soldier, the sponsors love him, the crowd loves him. I think when you’re in the middle of a disappointment and you’re frustrated and mad, you might say things that you wouldn’t say normally. But if he’s a hack I’d like to have more of them.”

I`d say the whole thing is staged. Get rid of all the various stages and timed breaks. Just let the guys race and let the best man win.
Like many, I might turn the races on to see who is winning but I find it overall boring and seldom watch for more than 10 minutes or so.

The main reason for all the changes was...
1. The old car was so behind the times in terms of performance.
2. The cost of operating them has gone down by a significant amount. You'll now be able to wreck these cars and not be upside down in money.
- hence why there are 2 or 3 brand new teams going into Nascar Cup racing this season, it finally makes sense from a financial POV
3. A fair number of safety changes have been added, the 1 lug nut, new cage design.

I'm watching, so far I like the look of the cars. Not sure about the wheels. I like dented sheet metal so that's gonna suck. The biggest thing I am taking away from this is the fact that there are people with masks and people without masks. None of them are yelling at each other.. I'm confused. That was pretty crazy seeing that burning engine tumbling down the race track - talks to the impacts with that flip. Saw that a few years back when a motor landed behind the fence at an Infinity race (wheel was up in row 17) but this time the motor was moving as fast as the spinning cars. Good to see him get out appearing only winded.

Nascar has been doing that for over 20 yrs. Daytona and Talladega huge packs and can't get away from each other this is what gonna happene. I think they need to kill some more drivers or maybe some fans until they figure out that those huge plate tracks are for a bygone era of cars.

Yes, I was at this one sitting just past the starting line/box. The wheel landed around row 17 I think but pieces also went up to the upper deck in that area (I was row 25 I think and there were paramedics up in higher rows. Luckily no one was killed.

Anyone else notice how easily the rear suspension is damaged? Great the composite body bounces back after an impact but so what if the suspension is killed every time. Hell, even saw a car spin out when a rear toe bar broke n caused a wreck.

In the braking zone, Larson seemed to stab his brakes twice without slowing at all. That left him well over his target entry speed in the corner, forcing a quick reaction to decrease the speed of what had immediately become an inevitable, significant hit. Being much further away from the right side wall that could help him slow with a side impact before a tire wall, Larson instead attempts to miss the corner and fly off into the runoff area. In the process, he strikes Ty Dillon's No. 42 Chevrolet at an angle in the corner's apex. The hit allowed Larson to dissipate most of the crash with a smaller variance in speed before spinning through the grass.
The crash still sent his car into the air and left both he and Dillon experiencing a pretty substantial hit, but it allowed Larson to substantially cut down the impact. Telemetry shown by NBC's NASCAR broadcast showed that Larson was going around 120 MPH at the time of impact, a terrifying speed to hit a wall head-on had he been unable to scrub some speed off by instead sliding sideways into the moving Dillon.
Both Larson and Dillon were able to get out of their cars under their own power. Larson also appeared to seek out Dillon to apologize after getting out of his car. In a post-crash interview, Dillon called the crash "about the hardest he had been hit by anything." Larson, who was also released from NASCAR's infield are center shortly after the crash, declined comment to NBC. The race continued after a brief caution.

Not very long ago I use to watch every NASCAR race from start to finish, now I rarely watch. In the last few years I have not watched a complete race. From some of the drivers disregard for their fellow competitors to NASCAR’s disregard to their own rules, they have lost me and many others. How do you fix it, I don’t know and at this point I don’t really care.

Nascar is so lost. Notice how empty the stands were. Racing around in that tiny stadium is dumb. I did not watch more thn 2 minutes of it. Just saw in the guide that there was nascar and it was a commercial during impractical jokers.

Didn't mind the racing, but they need to do something about the lengths of cautions when there is no clean-up to be done. 1 minute to tell the driver's their positions, 1 lap to choose, then green flag. And at bigger tracks, let he pace car do the pacing....how about 120mph down the backstretch at Daytona instead of 60?

That's exactly what the waiver is. If he wins when he gets back, he's in.

However, if 16guys win, he'll be the last man out due to being last in points.
