06 Mustang

Pro kit
Panhard bar
Rolled rear fenders

Running shelby wheels. Tires that are on it are 235/50r18. Any advice what I should run for tires as these are shot.

How wide are the rims? I'm running 255/45/18 Nitto 555s on my 8.5" wide wheels and they have been exceptional on the street and the track.

They're 9.5. I guess the stock tire was 255/45r18

Nitto 555s brand new are a very good street sport tire. Not expensive, look and feel great and offer good grip in the dry and wet, as well as decent mileage.
Similar to the old Bridgestone RE71s from the 80's and 90s; but about half the dough.

Choosing the right size is also paramount - if the rims are 9.5" wide and the car is lowered, you are going to want to reduce the overall height a little bit while maintaining the ideal width to match the rim(s).

Look at 265/35s or 275/40's for 9.5" rims. Nittos are built on narrow carcass, just FYI.

We have a great deal on a set of Continental Extreme Contact DW in size 255/45R18, which would fit 8 to 9.5" wheels:

I could bring them home to Caledon, and then figure out how to connect with you from there if you don't feel like making the drive across the GTA to the sunny K-W.

Wasn't the stock 07-09 Shelby tire a 285/40 or something like that on the rears?

That is correct, they had 9.5" wheels on all corners with 255/45R18 front and 285/40R18 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar rubber. Carroll Shelby wanted the look of the chunkier tires on the rear, but unfortunately that makes an extremely front heavy car just understeer more. (For those who care about max cornering)

I have these on my 05 with Shelby rims. Love them! Relatively quiet but good grip rain or shine.

Wet traction is outstanding with these tires, I know that from personal experience. Dry traction is very good, as is the ride.

I would go with the factory size 255 front 285 rear , can't beat the look of big meats in the back

I'm running 275 all around and love it. My track pack wheels are 9" wide. I wish I went with a bit more sidewall though.
