2005-2014 Airbag recall

So if you plan on trading in your car at a Ford dealership ,and probably any other dealer,you wont be getting the full amount.The recall will make the car sit on the lot until Ford come up with a fix.There still hasn't been a solution found according to one of the dealers I talked to.Just putting it out there.I'm not saying I know all there is to know about this issue, but just putting the word out, if it hasn't been already.

Is it all Mustangs of those years? If not, how do ya find out? Go to dealer?

I can't see a recall affecting the value of the car, recall means it will be fixed free of charge, unless this is some new thing where the car can't be resold or driven, in which case, that sucks. My Ford is an 04!!!!

Is this the same recall as last year or a new one? I had mine replaced last year.

As discussed in the other threads, the 2005 - 2008 Mustangs (produced from August 16, 2004 through June 25, 2007) have recall 14B09 for the driver's airbag inflator, parts have been available for about a year to do look after that. All 2005 - 2014 Mustangs are in recall 15S21 for driver's airbag inflator replacement, parts are still not available for that yet. So I guess that Ford and the airbag supplier feel that the 05 - 08 cars are most in need of a replacement, and anyone with those cars should at least get 14B09 done for now.

We were hoping that the parts for 15S21 would be available now that the season for bring the cars out is approaching, but we still have no new info since last July on this. I'll continue to keep an eye out for any updates on this ... I have an 07 Mustang myself that is involved.

I had the second one done this summer so parts are out there, there is now a third for the passenger side as well, that likely won't see until next year

Al, there was another thread going that I had kept updated ... 15S21 parts are available for 2005-2012 cars, but not 2013-2014 yet. And the passenger side recall is not yet available. So on your car, the local dealer or whoever you prefer to go to, should be able to get the driver side 15S21 completed for you.
