Inline 6 C4?

Will the C4 in my 81 i6 work with a V8 im sure it bolts up but will it work i figure its the same housing just the interals are not as beefy but i want to put a v8 drive train in as cheap as possible till i can afford new better stuff

Depending on the yr, change the bell housing and or converter = good to go.
