96-98 Cobra - Upgrading Brake Lines

I have a question regarding upgrading the brake lines on my 97 cobra.
In another post here, I read that it is recommended to upgrade your brake lines from the stock rubber to stainless steel.

It was also mentioned that Ford issued a recall to fix this issue. How do you know if your car was ever done? Would Ford still cover this recall?

If I need to do this on my own, what is everyone using that has done a brake upgrade to a fox mustang or SN95?

Recall or not, lines are old enough they should be replaced as a matter of good maint. Would opt for full kit.
