Starting to look for another mustang...2005, 2006, 2007?

Hasn't been long since I sold the 89 and I find myself looking for another mustang, specifically early S197's. "Early" due to costs... looking at 2005's. Any major differences in the 2005 - 2007 models?

07 might have blue tooth and heated seats.

05-06 will have heated seats depending on trim level. My 06 did. But there's TSB issues with 05-06 models. If anything try to get an 07-09 with the revised cooling system and other updates. Not that there isn't TSBs with them, there's just fewer.

Believe the 07 or 08+ had an aux connection which is a nice to have that the 05 and 06 cars didn't. think it was through 07 somewhere that the spark plug issue snapping upon charing was fixed or made much less likely to happen. Believe the 08 and 09s had a better charge motion plate system too. sounds like they are easier/less expensive to delete as well as more reliable in the later cars. Don't quote me on these exact years but take a look to find out exactly when these things happened.

Takes all of half an hour to wire up your own trunk release. I did mine and the longest part was deciding where to mount it :P

I got 2 key fobs for $15 off ebay mounted one on the dash kind of out of site does the job

I think from an enjoyment perspective the 05-09 are virtually identical. There are a few issues resolved in the later years like most model runs I guess. The most major one being the one piece spark plugs. They were introduced mid way in 08. I have an 06. It has 92k on it and has been very reliable. One thing I would watch for is any indication of water in the passenger side interior. Some earlier years leak and can have electrical gremlins.

Water leaks n the gremlins that come along with em are about the worst of it. Generally, very reliable and drive well.

I bought an 06 used 100+km , only real pain in the ass issue has been water in the sjb area , there are TSB's on this . Otherwise it's a comfortable car , I enjoy driving it when I get a chance , easy to personalize and mod . I think good bang for your buck .

Even if you have to change the plugs it's not that big of a deal. Run some seafoam through it. Change the the plugs with a hot/warm motor and you should be fine. That's what I did on my 06 @ 94,000km. I also used some deep creep on the ones that were stubborn. I was determined not to break any and I didn't.

When I looked for one I looked for the lowest km example I could find, ended up being an 05, something that wasn't used as a daily will show better and that would be my property as your eventually going to change half the car anyways lol
