17x9, 26mm offset, 6" BS wheels on a foxbody?

I wanna use a cool set of wheels I found for the front of my 1990 mustang. The specs are mentioned above - 17x9 wheel with 26mm o/s and 6' of backspacing. The only mods done are 1.5' lowering spring and the Ford M-2300-K brake kit. I plan on running 255/40/17 tires all the way around as well. Does this sound like they'll fit? Im thinking they should... but don't really wanna drop $800 bones if there's no way they will. Any thoughts guys??

The wheels that Ford suggested to go with that kit were +24, very close. So at worst you may need to put thin spacers behind them, but probably not. For the rear you need around +36 on a 9" wheel with that brake & axle package.

Make sure that you have enough steering rack limiters in place so that you don't grind those nice wheels on the lower control arms at full lock!!

yup...many aftermarket wheels will hit the lower control arms when cranked

I run two sets of those wheels with the 24mm offset w/255/40 Nitto tires (which are skinnier than other brands) on my lowered Fox. Rears needed a 5mm spacer to clear because of the panhard bar, according to MM - no quad shocks on my ride tho - you may have to reverse those to clear.

What axles do you have though Paul? The OPs M-2300-K brakes use the SN95 length axles ..

I have 17x9 American Muscle Cobra knock off rims non my Fox
Have the longer sn axles with panhard bar no spacers needed, just a couple steering rack limiters up front
Rolled inner fenders, 245/45/17 nitto 555

When I bough the Fox, it had an SN95 rear end with the same wheels on it. 245/45/17 tires on 17x9 w/ 24mm offset. No probs, they moved outbard a bit and looked pretty good.

Springs were too soft, so with someone in the back they did - no rolling of fenders. Now I have 315/35 s back there and coil overs, rolled lips and pounded inner fenders. Fox axles tho, Zero rub

Great info guys.. I have no issues with the rear... its the front wheels that are the issue. they're rubbing on something at full lock. Now, I do have 275/40/17 toyo tires in there at the moment and no inner fender plastic. Im thinking its hitting the control arm. Bt haven't figured out if its the tire or wheel.

On Foxes the wheels hit the control arm at the backside without the limiters in place - the control arms actually have a steel pad welded on at the factory to prevent eating the control arm, lol

I saw that pad and wondered what it was! lol.. So, when you guys say rack limiters.. exactly how much do you limit? like, a half turn of the wheel or something? Whats it like to pull a 3 point turn with limiters?

Probably like a 1/4 turn of the wheel each way. It's noticeable in tight turns but not bad.

You may also have some fender contact in the front when turning and going over curbs. I had 17x9 with +25mm 6" BS, 245/45/17, 95/95 front spindles. They certainly hit on cranking, but not after adding a limiter on each side.

Tubular A arms would probably solve your rubbing problem and allow you not to limit your rack. I had rack limiters and hated them in parking lots and my driveway. Did a bunch of mods that included A arms and got rid of all limiters, it's amazing the radius I have now!

I switched out my 03 Cobra wheels for 17x8" +30mm offset, 5.25"BS 99, Cobra/ 03/04 Mustang Gt wheels. They look almost the same and fit great with my Cobra brakes.

17x8" + 30 offset is actually 5.72" backspacing, that's what all of the SN95 17x8 wheels are.

Thanks Ed. I knew the 5.25" didn't sound right but I couldn't remember off the top of my head.
