Ever since dropping the t56 and Centerforce DFX in my car I've been fighting my clutch cable. Tightened it up only to have it loosen back up. Maybe I'm over doing it but I'm going for the 1/8 inch or whatever of slack that Centerforce recommends.

My question is, any real benefit in a street car that sees the drag strip rarely, to having an adjustable cable (at pivot fork) or could I swap back to a new OEM Ford cable and be happier?

Not much info to offer besides... I have a Steeda ACC and like the ability to play around with the cultch adjustment....and the blue anodized finish on the firewall adjustment part looks cool lol.

I'd suggest, OEM Ford cable (or Maximum Motorsports) + Steeda firewall adjuster n quad.
Not a fan of the adjustable cables, tend to constantly stretch and eventually fail.

I have had adjustment issues in the past and it gets annoying for sure.

OEM cable + (Steeda) firewall adjuster is the ticket.

Go for the quad while you're at it.

Check near the firewall if the cable looks like the below you are hooped and need to replace, this is a rare occasion of a factory cable failing but hey shit happens she's good to go now :)

I also have the Steeda quad, Steeda firewall adjuster and factory cable seems to be good to go now. Wish I would have taken a pic once the cable was off to show how it frayed.

I have the ford racing adjustable cable and quad and I love it.
set it once season and thats it.
I am running an frpp clutch too so nothing that puts extra strain on it (or my bad knee).

Maximum Motorsport Cable, firewall adjuster and quadrant.

Actuates the King Cobra just dandy.

Thanks all, theres an aluminum quadrant in it right now, cant recall the make. If this thing acts up again I'll probably break down and order a new Ford or MM cable.

Adjustable style cables (FMS or similar), typically have a very short life. Prone to binding, odd one sees the end break off.

Don't know what my steeda adjustable looked like when ZR took it apart, but every time I removed the inspection cover after a track day the jam nut was no longer jammed and it was laying by itself in the inspection cover.....
