Buying off marketplace from another city.

There is something for sale in Ottawa, going to ship. What is the best way to do this. Don’t want to get ripped off. I’m thinking payment through PayPal. Anyone have experience in this? Or is it a gamble.

Ross buys a ton of stuff from far away.

Paypal is good for the buyer, it is godawful for the seller.

Paypal now has it setup that you do not get your funds until the item reaches the buyers door.
I have no idea what would happen if the package gets lost/stolen etc...
The other negative with paypal is the fee's.
I charge 3% ontop of the item+shipping cost to help cover those fee's when selling.

All you can do to not get scammed is to view there profile, ratings, and personal profile.
ALOT of bots. You should be able to pickup a bot by asking it some unique questions.

I do lots of deals thru etrans where I take half payment plus shipping up front and they pay the rest after delivery.

This way, the seller gets their costs covered at the very least and the buyer is not betting the whole amount.

I've had to remind a few people but haven't been stiffed yet.
