What kind?
My only experience is with Bendpak. If going this route, only dealer available in Canada is out West, Babco. My experience was mixed. The people I dealt with were great. The delays, not so great. The lift however has been great, no issues, going on 9 years now.
Can't vouch for the quality since they switched from classic blue, to the new grey. Have heard rumours that the quality is not as good.

Costco has a small lift just a few feet up and moveable to keep it out of the way when not needed.

Spotted this one at Costco
$5k delivered seems hard to beat. Not ETL certified but not needed for personal use.

I have a 4 post Direct Lift PP8, purchased from the manufacturer located in Vaughan. Fantastic service in dealing with the company and the lift has been great after 8 years of ownership. With that said, Direct Lift has drastically increased the pricing of their lifts over the years. If I were in the market for a lift, I'd be purchasing an Atlas lift. It's basically the same model lift as the Direct Lift PP8, minus paying an extra $2,500.

I just ordered a Challenger Lift for my garage. https://www.challengerlifts.com/products/cl4p9x/
It should be a really high quality lift. I needed a narrow lift so it fits in my tight garage

Doesn't DaSilva sell them?

I really wanted to go with the wildfire out of the US. There were looking to expand into Canada but covid squashed that.
Rolling tool trays and built in Jack
Biggest seller for me is they are a 4 post lift but are easily movable. Which for my shop would be a huge asset.
The cost though. Oofta.

Most 4 post lifts have available casters.
Wasn’t a factor for me. I don’t think I could move my lift 1/2” in any direction.
Agreed about the cost tho. Prices have really jumped the last few years with the increase in steel. Most single car 4-post lifts used to be 3-4k

I’ll look into that.

Atlas and Direct Lift include the casters, drip trays, jack tray and wheel chocks in their package. Plus the motor runs on 120V and doesn't require an air compressor to disengage the safety locks.

I'm in the other camp. I see 240V and air locks as an advantage.
That's a big ask of 120V to lift a car. And as for needing an air compressor... a small air brush or nailer compressor work just fine and makes enough pressure in 20 seconds.
I run mine with 240v, but no air lock. It was worth the investment getting proper power into the garage and then allowed me to have a welder and other 204v tools.
Don was mentioning how much the costs have gone up, paid $2200 for mine at end of 2009

Both my lifts are 120v 20amp 9000lbs and have zero issues lifting my cars or my f150. I went with manual lock release as it is one less maintenance issue. One manual swing arm controls all four locks.

Doesn't DaSilva sell them?
Not sure if they still do, but worth a call for sure. My folks have had a DaSilva installed 4-post for over 10 years now. We had a cable slip off a pulley once, but other than that it's been rock solid.

I've been using Bendpak for the past 6 years with no issues. The dealer (Babco) is located in the west coast.

I have 2 Bendpak lifts. Got them through Babco as well. They had a location in Mississauga to pick up lifts a few years back when I got mine

Never heard of this company before. However the lift is a DirectLift PP8 / Atlas Apex 8 model that they are selling with their own stickers on it.

I’ve been looking for reviews on these models and can’t seem to come up with much.
I checked out babcos website and they are showing over 7k for the 9k lb. Lift. But only have stock out west.
This place in Milton so far have been nice and fast with any and all questions and have stock. Saying if I order soon enough could install on Friday.

Had them install the lift. Solved the logistical problem of getting the lift home.

As a bonus: the installer was short his assistant, so offered me 1/2 price if I would help. “Can I? Woo Hoo!”

How was install? Trying to decide if I should save the money and do it myself. But the cable set up I imagin needs to not have an idiot mess it up.
Having done one. Would you do it or still pay them?

Nope. Having now done one, easy enough. But was happy to have a pro install it, I don’t regret it at all.
Plus it got done in an afternoon. LOL, had I done it, would have been at least 2 days. Winter was coming.

Glad to hear this company is responsive, however the lack of reviews or comments would raise a red flag for me. My concern would be customer service (if needed) after purchasing, will this unknown company be around in a year or two?
At least with DirectLift and Atlas you're dealing with the manufacture and not a middle man. Even The Lift Super Store could be another option to purchase a lift from, they've been around for many years.
In my opinion this being a big purchase, I would want to deal with a reputable company that has been around for a while and is well known for a piece of mind.
Best of luck in your decision.

Do the install yourself, it was the easiest money I saved! Following the instructions the cables were simple to route.

Any one running an Atlas PP9?
I’ve found a gently used one for sale. A 2020 model
But hit dosnt have any accessories. I want to scoop it up but wanted to make sure I could still by the follies and the rolling Jack.
Atlas wasn’t any help. Said I need to check the manual for accessory pet numbers and then he could help me determine if the currently available accessories will work.
Seller said he would check for a manual. It has not gotten back to me yet
