37 yrs. full time in the high tech industry. Rarely a dull moment. Definitely excited to head into retirement. More time with the grand kids, more time on the golf course and more time to detail the cars. :thumbsup: Woohoo!

The male identity is strongly tied to providing, which in modern society means your job. I felt adrift for some time after "retirement" and realized it was because a part of my identity was gone.

I can pretty much assure you'll feel it to some degree within a few months. Knowing the source of this will help. It's not soul sucking like a divorce, but more like a loss of balance. It passes.
