Brake booster

My brake pedal when pressed hisses like a mad cobra lol.I'm suspecting I have a major vacuum leak which is causing my car to run like crap. My question is should I buy reman booster or is a used one fine?

If it was mine, pop for a reman so you only need to do the job once.
Not all that expensive.

If budget won't allow, used is a good back up though.
