Top rusted out, looks like the shut off was leaking in to the pipe wrap for a long time and rusted through. Found it during a cleaning, no water on the ground but a hole in the top ain't good. 2 hours from finding the hole to going grabbing a new one at the store and installed and running is my new high score.

I bought a new daily watch for work. It is a Save the Ocean Special edition with an ion finish. I bought an OEM silicone strap to make things more comfortable as I didn’t want to wear out the ion finishing on the metal strap.

Some sauce for the 4 sp Toploader in the 69. It can be a little crunchy from 1st to 2nd so trying some fresh oil.

David Kee is the go to expert on these Toploader transmissions and suggests staying with Dino oil instead of synthetic.

Spendy day this day.

Picked up a used 6.0 Ls motor and transmission for the Jeep project

Motor was located around the corner from Princess auto so also for the Jeep project we picked up a rotisserie (that’s been a long time want)
Also got a new welding rated extension cord.

Wife wants to learn to weld so she got her own welding helmet.

And they have a kit to add a sand blaster attachment to the pressure washer. Gonna give it a try and see how it does compared to just the sandblaster. Would be nice to not have the dust mess.

Oh and some anti vibration pads for the compressor.

My brother traded in his 2019 Mazda3 for a new CX5 but didn’t like it so he traded that one for the CX50. This is a GT non turbo model. I love the wide body look of this thing! Also love what Mazda does for the turn signals now. They pulse rather than ON/OFF.

Got this dash cam back in July during Amazon prime day. It was $200 but with discount and a coupon it was $93. Forward and cabin cam. Cabin cam is to record what’s happening behind me as I didn’t want to put another camera on the back window and run a long ass wire to the front cam. Camera came with a 64gb sd card even though it advertised that it didn’t come with a card. Also uses USB C when it advertised mini USB.

Since my cigarette plug is always on, I didn’t want the cam to drain the battery. So I found a OBD2 power plug that has an on/off switch. When off, only turns on when the car is on. When on, puts the camera in surveillance mode which is great if I leave the car in a parking lot.

Tucked the cable as best I could.

^ FYI to everyone on battery chargers.
A battery charger and a battery tender (unless charger has auto tender option) are not the same thing. For storage over the winter, battery should be fully charged then put on a tender for the winter. A trickle charger left on over the winter is not your batteries best friend. In the same breath, a tender is not made to charge a dead battery.

Hoping it won’t be too bad. R50 in the ceiling and R12 in the walls. Two walls are common with the house.

Plan is to keep the garage around 9 or 10 and warm it to 15 on wrenching days. I also have a 15000 btu propane heater I can use to help warm it up.

Of course my first hydro bill might change that plan. Lol

Found them to be awesome to deal with. Only shop that took the time to explain the differences in frame design and actually fit me to the right bike. Of course, being a complete novice at the time thought you only bought based on frame n wheel size.

Bike has sat upstairs unused for years. Bought this to make it easier to strip down for a full go through. Spoke with a couple of bike shops about the job, all think I should ditch and replace but I just plain like the old bike too much to toss it aside. It's a made in Thornhill Thin Blue Line, pics when I start working on it.

Nice bike stand...been procrastinating on getting one myself. Lemme know if you're happy with it.
Your bike, is it a mountain or road bike?

Mountain bike.
Have it set up in the living room, impressed with how well built and stable it is. Looked at a few for less money sporting two legs only, review after review about it falling over. One of those times to spend a lil more and get something that will actually do the job.

Really? to be honest we didn't do any research on this, i thought they were all 4 cylinders but the S was supercharged.
Just had a look at the specs now, they are both turbo but the non S is a 3 cylinder?

That's what we got almost 2 years ago. Only been a few times that the gas backup kicked in since then and only in January. The outside unit is below our walkout deck and it's so much quieter out there during the summer versus the central A/C unit it replaced....much more pleasant when using the deck in the summer.

That's what we did at our cottage. We installed the same heat pump, but with ductless headunits indoors. Put the outdoor unit under the cottage. Way quieter, cleaner looking, well protected, etc.

Question about this. Assuming lots of air flow was already a consideration. Shaded unit in summer will cool better and more efficient. Would it not also be true that in winter when the unit is pulling heat from out doors would you not want as much sun exposure as possible?

Not sure if that kind of thermal differential would make a difference with these units?

It’s not solar powered, it doesn’t rely on solar radiant heat. In heat mode, the outdoor unit is acting as the evaporator.
There might be some thermal efficiency gained by direct sunlight in the winter, but during the summer, the opposite would be true when it reverses and the outdoor unit in the sun is operating as the condenser. And seeing that the cottage is 3 seasons, I’d rather have the cooling efficiency during the summer.

I’m sure a mechanical engineer could explain it better.

i know its not solar powered. lol but thermal efficacy is a thing with fridges, assumed it might be the same here. since most peoples worry is efficacy in the cold winter figured that might be a factor in the decision to cover. three season use makes perfect sense though.

Roush serialized car or dealer build? Roush cars don't hold value like Saleen's do but generally a good clean serialized car with documentation is worth a few G's more than a similar GT. Documentation is key, otherwise its just a modded GT value wise.

Price also depends on things like mileage/condition/options/etc like any other mustang.

Congrats to him! That is awesome to hear. It is actually called graphene coating. It is supposedly more durable than the traditional SiO2 coatings but I personally have not tried it. SiO2 (Aka Ceramic) is next level to a polymer sealant. Durability and resistant to chemicals is improved compared to waxes and sealants. Give it a try.:stickpoke:

Worked great. Our iPhones, 64gb and 128gb, were running out of storage. Didn’t want to upgrade to newer phones with more storage. This USB can hold both pics and vids of our phones.

Really easy to use. Download their app, plug in the device in your phone, pick what you want to transfer and transfer it over. The more you transfer the longer it takes obviously. Then take the device and plug it into your laptop or computer and save on there.

We lost some Ash trees in our yard that used to shade our deck. So I bought this today.

Plan is to install on the left side of the deck where the patio doors are. Should provide a nice space for hanging out.

Hoping the peaked roof will compliment the lines of the house roof.

I have the similar but older one like this. Pretty much the same specs. It's fine for my use which is mostly cleaning the decks and patios. Don't really busy it out for the cars much but it works fine for that too. I'm just more of a buckets and hose guy.

Bought another dashcam. The suction cup on the other one kept falling off even after using double sided tape. Got this one on a Prime Deal. 3 cameras although not using the rear because I don’t want to run the cable to the back. Comes with a soft cloth to clean the lenses and static cling stickers in case you don’t line it up the first time.

I got my current dashcam specifically FOR the rear camera. Not hard to run the wire tucked in the headliner.

Just as much, if not more, crazy shit happens behind.

Front and rear dash camera is key. Rear end mishaps happen more often than not.

I’ll have to see if I can cleanly tuck the wire in the headliner for the rear camera. Kinda why I wanted a camera that has a cabin camera, so you can still see the rear and the side windows.

To keep dust out of the garage I decided to set this thing up in a little parts shed I have beside the garage.

My air hose reaches and it seems to work well.

Absolute must mod is to properly silicone the edges. And then run a vacuum to keep a negative pressure in the chamber. Also look into a gravity feed mod too if you have the space underneath. It takes those PA units up a major level in operation and means you can run less sand than in side so you lose less on clean outs.
You can make one with a standard gun and some plumbing parts. I think it was under $100 to do it to my larger PA unit.

Just make sure you use a good quality vacuum bag. I tried just using a foam filter and didn’t take long to burn up my cheap vacuum.
