Volvo has advised over the years not to drill and they generally hold up a long time without rustproofing. Had a couple sheet metal rust spots at the back which may have been from an issue with previous owner (rear bumper had a small crack with I bought it). Underside of car is way cleaner than the Lincoln LS was when it was 14 y/o and this car is 16. Figure it can't hurt at this point to slow the rust returning if no drill.

Unlike my previous one that grips the vent, this has a hook the grabs from the back of the vent and you tighten it down. More secure as my previous fell off the other day while driving.
When you place your phone in the holder, it will auto grip the phone electronically. It has buttons on the side to release it. It also holds a charge in case you unplug it and need to remove your phone so the holder won’t be stuck gripping your phone.

Finally decided to upgrade from a tube TV (last Panasonic tube flat screen made in Japan) to an LED TV. Would have preferred a Panasonic OLED but they don't sell TVs in North America anymore so went with a Sony Bravia 55 inch OLED. Ordered and was hoping it would arrive before World Cup final weekend but looks like that won't happen.

Been searching for this discontinued Zenith (El Primero 4069 movement with 10 beats per second) watch model for the last couple years on the pre-owned market but was hard to find until a grey market dealer in NYC scored a few NOS inventory items in early November (one NOS popped up in Florida in 2020 but...pandemic). They only had a handful so ordered one before it sold out and it's waiting for me to pick up in Buffalo (CBI). Haven't seen it in person yet but was looking for a blue dial so hopefully it meets expectation.

Zenith doesn't get the love it deserves. First auto chrono and basically the backbone behind popular models like Tag, Ebel, and even the Rolex Daytona was a modified El Primero movement for a while. Nice piece.

Yeah, the quality and attention to detail that Zenith has is outstanding for their price tier and hits above it's weight and their movements are in-house and well done - doesn't have the branding appeal outside the watch community as others in the same tier like Rolex so pre-owned prices don't hold up the same as Rolex who does a lot more mass marketing. Rolex used the El Primero movement for 12 years but de-tuned it from 36,000vph (lateral clutch) to 28,800vph before developing their own version which was a 28,800vph (vertical clutch) movement which is more "sturdy" for a sports chronograph.

Good point, bulk of no starts are from deteriorated fuel while blower sat in the off season. For me, regular lil squirt of SeaFoam + super regular oil changes etc saw my almost antique blower fire on the third pull last week.

I have taken to running all my small motor stuff with only premium and every time I refill my jerry cans they get fuel stabilizer and premium fuel. That way everything has fuel stabilizer in it. 100% of the time. My dad thinks it’s excessive
But for all that stuff that only gets periodic use it has all but eliminated the hassle to get things started. Even the mixed gas stuff like the trimmer leaf blower and chainsaw get stabilizer in the mixed fuel.

I've been doing the exact same thing for many years. Never dealt with starting issues with my small engine equipment. One of my snowblowers (mixed gas) is pushing 25 years old, usually starts on the first pull.

Well isn't that cool.
Hard to find these upfit bodies anymore. The body will go 20' up in the air which great for loading and tearing off roofs. Then you lower it down, flip a lever and it dumps like a normal dump body. That plus it being an 11k kg hydraulic brake G class chassis makes it super versatile.
Had to get this one out of Florida. Which is sort of a double bonus as she hasn't been through a bunch of salty winters.

Ross n I are headed north.
I hope you are driving way north. I just came back from a week sled trip. Drove to New Liskeard and hit the trails from there and did Iroquois Falls, Abitibi canyon, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, Cochrane and back. Anything south of Cochrane is junk and it’s even worse since last week. There is very little snow in the north this year. The A trail corridor is great, but any warm up in this region and it’s over.

I saw on another forum questions about where some Wix are being made, now that Wix was sold to Mann+Hummel. Some in Mexico to Poland to China. Lots of stock still around from US.
For a real "good laugh" look up who "owns" K&N now.
Right now K&N is owned by Fram.

My wife's Volvo used Wix that were changed from the Volvo style all paper filter to the paper cartridge with the plastic top and bottom caps. No problems with oil changes until 3 years ago, with the new China made filter, removing oil filter cap causes the top plastic filter cap to shear off. The cap lodges inside filter cap, "I hope when I am removing the cap and not before"??
Next batch of filters will need an inspection so I am getting the older all paper filter, at a much higher cost.
She is an old, but good Volvo but replacing her would be costly, just like replacing the wifey with those high maintenance hot babes, so have to made do on both fronts!

Unless the company themselves has a refueling station there arent many public stations around.
Fuel cell vehicles, essentially it is a hybrid system where refueling takes 5 minutes ... unlike an EV. We argue its a much better alternative once the supporting infrastructure is built up and an additional alternative to an EV crazed world.
This company (Charbone) has a fully operational station so they can supply their own hydrogen.
There's 4 coming to Ontario in about 6 weeks :) And am working on an additional 2 to be delivered at the end of this year to be operational within the GTA.
You can tell the politicians have all their hands in the EV jar and are being stubborn about including anything else.
The amount of made up red tape and bureaucracy we are putting up with is nuts.

When you say it’s a hybrid. So it’s running an Internal combustion engine that’s just using hydrogen as fuel?
My dad was talking about some tech he read about where the hydrogen is used to directly create electricity to run the electric motor.
What kind of hydrogen volume does it take to fill?
Know hydrogen itself is relatively easy to “home brew”
But by the sounds of it is rural people might be sol for a while? until the determine enough of a demand to build a refuelling station.

These cars dont work as well in rural areas. I think the best for rural areas are ice/electric hybrids. For the NEXO, if a Hydrogen station has a 350 bar pump ... you're only going to get half the range.

Our dishwasher needed repairs costing about $400 for parts and labour. Decided to get a new one instead. I know a guy that collects scrap metal. Called him to grab the old one. Said he had a new dishwasher on hand for $120 that hadn’t been used in 2 years. Same Frigidaire brand. Told him I’ll take it for that price. He brought it over Friday and I installed it yesterday. Took me while to level it out as Mattamy don’t know how to use a level when building a home. The tiles under the counter aren’t flat to each tile so had to compensate. Got it as level as I could, I’d say 95% level. Also had to go to Lowe’s for a MIP 90 degree elbow for $6. It’s a little louder than previous dishwasher but for $120 I ain’t gonna complain.
34507
Another side note about Mattamy, our countertops aren’t the same height. When I bought a new stove a few years ago, I adjusted the legs to be the same height as the countertop left and right. The stove wasn’t level. I measured the height of each countertop to the left and right of the stove, sure enough one side was higher than the other. Mattamy are morons. Obviously I leveled the stove using a level. Water or oil stays in the middle of the pan or pot rather than leaning to one side.

Are they considered good for all weather conditions? Always challenging come winter time when you get the slush/water build up and of course salt. I've stuck to two sets of mats: fair weather and winter so far. Considering getting weathertech next.

I can only assume so. The Tuxmat were good in the winter except for where my left heel was digging into the vinyl part instead of the rubber part. Almost put a hole in the mat. Vinyl is pretty easy to clean too.

Details on that? Got a vacuum bleeder kit from PA years ago. Works okay, but has trouble making a good seal at the bleeder screw.

Attaches at the master/reservoir (aluminum cap made for Ford/Mustang comes with the kit); put in new fluid in the Motive Bleeder tank, attach aluminum cap to brake master reservoir, pump tank to 15 PSI (let sit for a minute or two to watch for any leaks), then go to each bleeder screw and attach a hose (not sure of the size yet...thinking 3/8 or 1/4) which runs to a bottle of your choice, open the bleeder and let the fluid flow till clear, then move to the next corner. Check Motive Tank periodically to ensure pressure is maintained up to 15 PSI. If the bleeder screw leaks air, I'll zip tie it.
From the YouTube's I've seen with the Motive Product, looks very easy and recommended highly. I'll post my experience afterwards.

Hmm…. Looking forward to your review.
The one I have pulls a vacuum at the bleeder. But if I understand your post correctly, this one pressurized the reservoir tank.

Correct Don; this one uses pressure to push fluid at the brake fluid reservoir to each caliper bleeder vs. pulling from each bleeder.
PS > I plan to draw out most of the old fluid at the brake fluid reservoir using a large syringe, then adding fresh fluid to the reservoir BEFORE starting the procedure with the Motive bleeder. Figure it's better to avoid pushing as much of the old stuff back thru the system.

Sweet. I used to run rotax (not DD2) many years ago in Hamilton. Now running a Birel with a LO206 engine in Sudbury.
Isn't that sweet looking.

So we had a blackout the other day and it bricked one of my wifi extenders. It’s an older model Asus with no antennas and was on the second floor of the house. Had good range within the house on the second floor. The new model Asus with antennas that I purchased recently was garbage. Barely connects and crashed every time I tried a firmware update so I just unplugged it and left it. So I went onto Amazon and checked out what was good. Found this TP Link model with great reviews and good price. Got it connected yesterday and was an easy setup with the TP Link app. I can change the range based on power consumption and turn off the LEDs at night or off altogether. The range and connectivity is amazing. It’s plugged in the middle of the house on the second floor and posting this on my sidewalk with a strong connection on the 5ghz band. My main Asus router which is on the main floor doesn’t reach this far. So far so good.

Needed a new cooler as my dad left our other big one in Montreal at my sister-in-law’s house. So I opted for least expensive and large capacity.

Wife wanted a new meat cleaver as our old one was dented, dull and the wooden handle came off. So you’re basically holding a metal handle while chopping.
Got this one from Amazon for $115. When looking for cleavers, pay attention to what they can cut through. Some are not meant to go through bone. This one does. Purchased based on reviews (4.5 rating) and price and warranty. I ain’t paying over $200 for a Zwilling.

Needed to replace my drives. Running out of space on C drive 120gb SSD, almost had no room to install WD cloning software. My D drive is a 1tb HDD and while still had 300gb left, was starting to get a little slower. My C drive is only for programs while I save everything on D.

This is my aging computer but runs well for run of the mill stuff, no gaming. Noctua dual fan for the processor. 200mm fan in front for intake. 200mm fans at the side and top for exhaust. 120mm fan at the bottom for intake. 120mm fan at the back for exhaust.
