Got the freshly turned flywheel and pressure plate for the Plymouth back from the machine shop.

Unfortunately my storage options are not great right now and I won’t be getting to this untill at least the spring. Maybe summer.

I’m concerned about getting surface rust started again.

Is there something I can put on to stop the rust from starting until I Get to putting this thing back together?

Or just throw it on a shelf and it will be fine?

Was thinking just spray paint.

Not sure if a little bit of surface rust would cause any issues.

Was t sure if there was a special sauce for this. Like what brake rotors are coated with when they are new. But don’t want to risk ruining impossible to replace parts.

I second the thought of using a light coat of matt black paint, just enough to cover. Easily removed with Laquer Thinners when you need it, would most definitely store inside / off the floor in a dry spot.

If it’s going to be stored inside I would just wrap it in newspaper or paper towel and put it in a few grocery bags, each one folded over and taped closed. Otherwise paint or plasti dip is probably best.

was going to be in the garage which is uh heated, perhaps ill just try and hide it in the house some where the boss wont see it.
