View Full Version : You considering mods / project for next year........................
If you have plans for even minor mods next season, best to jump on the wagon now to avoid being disappointed your parts didn't come in till summer was long since gone. Everything from major parts to the lil pieces to install em continue to get harder and harder to get, some just can't be bought period.

Ordered twin disc McLeod 6435807HD clutch a month ago...arrival expected before Christmas....
Unrelated to car parts, but relevant because of supply chain.
Lee Valley (manufacturer/ distributor of wood working tools, garden stuff) sent me a notice that they expect some product to be out of stock for up to a year before it is replenished.
We have engines out being rebuilt, don't expect any of them back before late winter / early spring.

sad but true. That reminds me, Rick I need to confirm a listing of IRS parts to order from BMR for my GT and make arrangements for install in spring.
Currently considering the following:
Steeda IRS BILLET VERTICAL LINKS with Derlin bushings (trying to avoid additional NVH) https://lmr.com/item/ST-5554121/2015-mustang-steeda-irs-billet-vertical-links-555-4121
OR
these vertical links from BMR https://lmr.com/item/BMR-TCA047/15-17-mustang-rear-vertical-links-delrin-bmr-tca047
Unsure about upgrading the vertical links...not certain if they are required.
BMR CRADLE BUSHING LOCKOUT KIT - LEVEL 2 - BLACK HAMMERTONE https://lmr.com/item/BMR-CB005B/2015-mustang-cradle-bushing-lockout-kit-black-bmr-cb005
BMR IRS SUBFRAME SUPPORT BRACE SYSTEM - BLACK HAMMERTONE https://lmr.com/item/BMR-CB762/mustang-bmr-irs-subframe-support-brace-system-15-19
Everything appears to be in-stock at the moment but the Steeda vertical links are showing low stock levels.
Also considering these MAXIMUM MOTORSPORTS CASTER CAMBER PLATES for the front:
https://lmr.com/item/MM-MM6CC10/2015-mustang-maximum-motorsports-caster-camber-plates
CB006 - Chassis Brace, Front Subframe, 4-point in black https://www.bmrsuspension.com/?page=products&productid=1614&superpro=0

Today my wife and kids told me they bought a FERRARI F8 Tributo for my Christmas present, but sadly supply problems means they don't know when it will be arriving.
Do any of you think I should believe them??
Is Italy that far behind in production as much as China??
We are seeing parts normally available same day take months n months n months to arrive.
Just trying most colors of spray paint right now. Our go to brand for flat black, hammertone grey n high heat silver have been out of stock for going on a year now............shiat you not.
No mods, but how is the parts situation at local auto parts stores?
I haven't been to a local auto parts store to buy parts in a long time, probably well over a year.
Bicycle stores are having a hard time getting many parts or can't get them at all.

Summer mods turning into winter mods by the time parts arrive. Took 6 months for my exhaust to arrive. Now that I have it, I’m waiting for the guys at AMP Motorsport to let me use their lift so I can install it. I don’t have jack stands that can get the car high enough to remove the over axle pipes. I could unbolt the shocks and pan hard bar but that just seems silly just to remove over axle pipes.

Auto Parts stores are finding it a challenge, many times it means buying a brand you'd normally never use.

My sister is in logistics, she told me there is 1000s of trucks and boats stuck at ports around the USA. Not enough work force or drivers. That’s why there is a massive shortage.

Heard container ships waiting up to 9 weeks to be unloaded.
Also heard the average longshoreman working out of LA makes 170k per year.
If anyone is looking for a move. Lol.

Who did you hear that from?
The average Longshoreman salary in California is $64,832 as of September 27, 2021, but the range typically falls between $55,474 and $74,125

Could be but they did say part of the problem was the union contract only allowed one shift or something like that. No night shift.
Could have been factoring in benefits and pensions?
