Just noticed a strong smell of gasoline coming from passenger side engine bay. Can’t see anything dripping from fuel lines. Lower intake looks dry too. No smell coming from rear of car.

I read the charcoal canisters can be the source of this. Is it the canister itself? Or the purge solenoid or vacuum lines? Everything looks “ok”

Is there a way I can diagnose the exact cause?

Canister has fuel in it.

I had a similar problem with mine. Never really did figure it out, I just replaced everything. Gas cap, canister, solenoid, and roll-over valve. And blew out all the fuel vapour lines to make sure no blockage.

I also had an issue with my gas tank pressurizing, so I think I saturated the canister.

Was the valve in the tank hard to replace?

Dropped the tank enough to reach it, push install into the grommet.

Probably didn’t need replacing, but I was just doing everything.

You mean to look for leaks in the lines of the evap system?
