"The top-of-the-line Mach-E model will set you back $82,995 in Canada, which is almost $20,000 more than the new Mustang Mach 1."

Buying a performance EV is sort of an oxymoron. I will gladly spend the same amount of money and be in a GT350 or ZL1 1LE

I agree. IMO, you get an EV because you are concerned with being "green".
Then you blow through gigawatts with "spirited" driving.

But it's what is selling EVs. Number one complaint of early EVs was golfcart-like performance.

I wonder if there will be a lease option for the Mach E? or maybe Ford doesn't want them back after a couple years.

the green aspect of this is always the talking point, but the mining requirements for the lithium and the disposal of the battery never get spoken about. I don't know what the environmental impacts are of these two parts of the life cycle of the car, but something that gets brushed aside because it can be plugged it into the wall.

People think you can plug one end of an extension cord in to the other end...

The 2021 Mach I with handling pkg I looked at had an MSRP of about $74K, so I'm not sure who is doing their math for them.

Yeah, that is crazy. My GT had a MSRP of 42k in 2015.

Says 378kms of range. Left out the fine print...70 degs ambient temp, no wind, level road, no A/C running and 80km/h fixed speed!

My daily commute is the longest I’ve ever had for a job, and is still only 90km / day. Seems an EV would do just fine.

Not me. I have no interest in them at all. Not one bit. It’s not sustainable and practical. I got into cars because I love the beautiful exhaust note, and the rumble of the motor. The ICE is a far better choice in my opinion. If they want to go carbon neutral, this synthetic fuel that Bosch, Mazda, and others are creating will be a game changer.

I love it. I had one for a day to take back and forth to work. It was awesome. I’d get one for a daily no problem. The acceleration was wild.

Doesn’t matter what they are asking. If I am buying a Ford SUV it will likely be a Bronco with the Sasquatch package...

Also still hoping they come out with a coyote powered Bronco...

Just finished driving a Mach E. a friend of mine brought one to my home to try. Really weird stopping at a stop sign and there ain’t no noises. It’s definitely different.

It’s funny how we perceive noise with acceleration. The thing was quick.
