Anyone used this Hylomar Blue sealant on exhaust headers with or without gaskets, and other head gaskets surfaces
Never dries, non-hardening, so not like other gupps, Parts can removed and be reassembled.
Developed for R/R gas turbine jet engines used at 44k ft in the sky, so must be good.
Friend recommended this stuff for a engine refresh project.
Unable to see his build yet due to our fearless leader in Ottawa.
So just asking, I am keeping a open mind.
I've used it before on a water pump and intake manifold installation.
Excellent stuff!
Easier to work with and not thick like silicone for jobs like that.
Unlimited assembly time.
I think I still have about 3 tubes of Hylomar universal blue at home.
If it's good enough to seal jet engines it has to be good.

How did you apply it, with a brush, to get a smooth thin layer?
I applied it with my finger and that gives a nice uniform even coat.
I think Hylomar contains some type of solvent that evaporates to make applying it easy out of the tube.

It's mixed with acetone.
Thanks for your reply.
Buy it and try it.
I was more than impressed when I used it.

Where did you buy it, comes in different versions and colours now for different applications?
D&D Engineering distributes it so going to ask them for recommendation for best one to use.
I need the best one for pushrod engine use on 400 series hi-ways and evading the radar beams. LOL.
I bought it at a industrial supply store in my area that's no longer in business.
