I think you’re referring to Perez. McLaren have been in a slump since then but they’re bouncing back. Ricciardo will be happy next year if they keep it up. I’m sure Sainz is probably a little worried about next year with Ferrari.

Tied into the new rules were cost-saving measures and standardised parts that aimed to create a level playing field and a new era of F1.
But given the extensive disruption the coronavirus pandemic has caused to F1's 2020 season (not to mention the wider world), it's easy to understand why such a major project has been delayed 12 months. I’ve been watching F1 more regularly again for a few years. It does get boring watching Mercedes dominate most of the time but the rest of the field is fun to watch. Hamilton is an amazing driver but I was disappointed to see him bring his political view into the sport the way he did. I personally think anyone who kneels for an anthem is extremely disrespectful. Plus he thought everyone should do it. There are much better ways to get your point across.
I really root for Alex Albon. He is the underdog but is also such a nice kid with tons of talent. He also got knocked out twice by Hamilton which also made me ticked off at Hamilton.
As for teams I root red bull And McLaren. Both teams have great talented drivers and the teams themselves are really strong. Next year should get really interesting.

They didn’t want him to be undercut. Had he pitted later he would’ve ended up behind people whom would have already pitted plus the 10 second penalty. He got 3rd which is better than 4th or after.

I just dont understand why you pit running the fastest times on the track. He was 2seconds infront of bottas before pits and when it cycled around, bottas had a 14-15second lead on hamilton.
You'd think with Hamilton on those new tires he would have been able to close the gap up before Bottas pitted. Clean air is just that good I suppose.

I believe when you get a stop and go penalty you have to do it within 2-3 laps of when you’re told of it. That’s why Hamilton was complaining why he couldn’t just get 10 seconds added on to his race because then he could stay and in the lead and create a huge gap from whoever is in 2nd place and then get 10 seconds added on and still win.

I believe the rule is, if you get a time penalty, you have to serve that time penalty the next time you pit. I don't think there is a rule on when you have to serve it. If you don't end up pitting, it is added onto your race time.
F1 has so many rules though its hard to keep them straight.

Yep, they are. They seem more results driven. They want to be like Mercedes with Hamilton/Rosberg and Hamilton/Bottas and Button/Barrichello and the likes. They want to be 1-2 and not 2 and wherever else Albon finishes.

Hard to say. For those the top 3 it’s both. They know how to drive and get the most of their cars and dialed in just right for each track.

The veterans that are in the back don’t have the cars to compete. Not sure what’s going on with Vettel. I think he just wants out of Ferrari. Hard to tell about the Williams boys as clearly the car isn’t doing it for them but do they have the talent that if they drove the Mercedes or Red Bull to win races?

I remember when Piquet Jr was Alonso’s teammate and Flavio complained they had the same car but Piquet was always at the back. Clearly someone had talent and the other didn’t.

I setup my Civic Si to my comfort level. Front wheels had just enough camber to grip around corners but not so much as to destroy the front the tires when driving straight. Rear camber setup for good rotation around corners and some slight oversteer. Had Koni Oranges as for a street car I didn’t care for adjustable dampening. Tein springs. Factory sway bars were fine. Aftermarket CMC and SMC so you could slam every gear and shift as fast you want. Had a 3” extension on the gear leaver and a 3” cylindrical shift knob so that’s 6” higher than what it should be. It was a great setup.

So maybe some of the drivers don’t know how to setup their car for each track.

Yeah I remember a race when Hamilton was 4th and Bottas was 3rd and they were trailing two Ferraris. Hamilton thought he could catch up to them so the team told Bottas to let Lewis through and he did. Lewis couldn’t catch up to the Ferraris so he gave Bottas back the place. He didn’t need to give Bottas back the place but he did. He didn’t earn 3rd place so why keep it.

It is notable that his post-race comments really talk up his team and sponsors and their contributions versus his efforts which is unusual for F1 - it's more of a North American Nascar/Indy style than F1.

I'd like to see the data from an F1 team on how much benefit they get from weaving to warm/clean the tires. I've long been under the impression it's more of a psychological benefit than an actual benefit.

What an absolute shit show today. Merc threw the race away with an absolute rookie horror show in the pit. I felt so bad for Russel. He killed it but it just shows how good that car is. I think the pit screw up was well explained. With the position of the cars on that lap when the SC came out they had only few seconds to pull that off. So it was bad but George was still going to win that race. It was the puncture he got just before he caught Perez that finished him off. Awesome drive. Probably cemented his future in a works Mercedes. I can see him in Bottas' car.

He is blaming bottas moving a fraction back to the right for him going wide into the grass.

Agreed with above, crazy how long it takes for safety crews to arrive on scene at these wrecks. Imagine if the crash Romain had happened today... he would have died.
However, at what point do you send safety guys out there, seconds after the crash, i believe it was alonso, self spun right by the accident.
I think they just need to slow wayyyy down and make getting to the accident scene a priority.

We do have one. For my parents and I use it sometimes to watch new movies. I have basic cable and internet because my parents wanted basic cable. If they didn’t need the cable I would have just went with internet.

I got the 1 year subscription to F1 TV. Cheaper than the sport package from Rogers. Only downside is can’t watch it on my actual tv because Google doesn’t have a F1 app on their android tv. And casting from my phone is horrible. I’ll just watch it on my 12.9” iPad Pro. Good enough for me.

That’s why most people were saying it was a racing incident. In the end the penalty served no purpose as Lewis won the race.

Everyone keeps saying Hamilton hit Verstappen. You can clearly see in the replays that Verstappen hits Lewis’s front wheel with his rear wheel and that’s why Verstappen’s wheel broke.

Furthermore Verstappen is complaining that everyone celebrating at the end of the race is disrespectful and unsportsmanlike while he was in the hospital. Hey jackass, you were on the podium last year in Bahrain and celebrating when Grosjean had his big crash and was in the hospital.

Max didn't need to do anything different to go through that corner side by side with Lewis. Lewis is the one that wasn't on the line you'd expect him to take, so IMO, that makes the accident Lewis's fault.

That said, I'd be fine with no penalties IF the race continued and Lewis had to pit for a new front wing. In that scenario there is clear disincentive to be involved in an accident. I think what I learned from all this was, if you're going to cause an accident, make sure it's bad enough to stop the race, because then you get to fix your car with no time lost. The red flag probably saved Lewis about 40 seconds in the pits.
