I’m tired of fighting with the garbage dometic
Unit that came with our travel trailer.
Had it for three years and had to fix the noisy thing three times. Want to upgrade to something Quieter. As well as easier to preset.
Being able to run the fan constant, even if the ac/ heat is on is a must.
Anyone in the know or have something you would recommend?
Oddly enough, Dometic tops most online reviews.

Yeah I’m seeing that too. Lol
I know mine is an entry level unit that came with the trailer.
Could be your whole problem.

Our Class A pusher had a Coleman unit on it, never failed us. Beyond that not sure.

I've heard Dometic Penguin 2 is quieter and reliable. I am not sure why you can't run the fan all the time. I can. Set fan to high or low on thermostat then set A/C or heat as required. Fan will stay on whatever setting you choose. If you select auto fan it will do as it pleases not what you want. I have a 15k Dometic on my camper and never had an issue. It is noisy though. I also run a Supco SPP6 hard start capacitor to ease the startup of the A/C.
You can try these guys if you are thinking about a used A/C unit. https://youngfartsrvparts.ca/ Otherwise Amazon is just about the cheapest place to get one.

It used to run separate. Then quit. They said there was an update to the control. It was replaced, worked for a bit and then quit. Now it just seems to want to run when it feels like it. I matter what it’s set to.

I think it may be a thermostat problem more than an A/C unit problem. Im no expert though
