If I read it right, on the last page of the Carfax it indicates transmission & clutch replaced, along with wiper motor and carpet......in 2004!? Hmmmmm. Wonder what happened there...Nothing since though. Nice low K's on that Cobra that's for sure. Not my favorite color though.

That coating is dealer applied, not factory. Barn dust or not-a $30k fox should be clean enough to justify the price...just sayin.

Considering only 107 R's were made, making this an extremely rare car. Equates to supply and demand where majority of these cars are tucked away in a collection, sadly never being used what they were intended for.

I disagree with the high dollar comment. You probably remember the days when these cars sold new for $15K. The foxbody is now a classic car. The prices are now starting to take off (took long enough) especially for the desirable notchback in original condition which is becoming hard to find. I was fortunate to purchase mine just as the prices were slowing creeping up. Another fox which I'm seeing that is becoming desirable is the GT model with the 2-tone paint scheme.

Rarity doesn't always = collectible or high prices.

Look at stuff like Cadillac Alante's (rare but hot garbage) or Bricklins (20k gets you a show quality car).

Foxes are going nuts because so many people equate them with a period in their lives or in time. They are also fun little demons to drive. However for the money you have to be somewhat objective. I think there prices are driven by rich guys looking to make money, no enthusiasts looking for good cars. Eventually the money will move on to other avenues and they'll settle in a price bracket indicative of what you're getting

Yes and no. Market is influenced by demand absolutely. But once that demand is present the money comes in to play and guys start influencing supply by buying up the things they "think" will appreciate or forcing appreciation. Which trickles down to the average owner inflating their price.

Look at the Ferrari market, Testarossa's got very hot there a few years ago when everyone thought they'd have a similar trajectory to Countachs. Price spiked as everyone started to trade them an auction and all the "low miles preservation" cars came out of the woodwork. They've since fallen back to earth.

if your not planning to track it...coolers should be fine, I think it was guys on the track that were having most problems with overheating. Back in 2016 there was a track pack gt350 which came with all the coolers that the "R" had which was much better...something to take into consideration if that's what your looking for...these will obviously be more expensive however

I’m sure it also went a bit below $38 at the other dealer. This current dealer has also raised the price since they first listed it. Too much for that amount of kms. There was a nice grey 2011 in Alberta for $36 with 60k kms not long ago.

when they first designed it with regular tips through that fascia it was melting it...so then changed to this style...it's kinda cool, you can run all day then go touch them and they will just be warm...but you won't burn your finger off...
