Blue Plates

I thought the blue plates were gone forever but a friend was changing a car ownership to his name was given a new blue set. After a bit of searching my understanding is that the reflective material on the numbers was modified by 3M for better visibility at night and that Service Ontario has resumed distributing them. Is this correct ? Just want to check with my esteemed TMC members before lining up to buy a set !!!

I still have my blue plates from the day they were issued and I didn't receive a replacement so not sure what is going on, I just hope they leave the dark blue plates and fix the lettering, they look a lot better than the white plates.

I don’t like them. Gonna keep my white plates as long as possible.
