Last time in Mexico we got a couple of bottles of Revolucion.
By no means am i a tequila aficionado, but I quite liked this one.

Took the old girl out for one last ride of the season. Went out to Bench Brewing in Beamsville for a delicious Bewilder Brett IPA. Nice light ipa. Hints of citrus and not too bitter.

I guess the guy at GLB wasn’t entirely truthful. In fairness, he did say the “tall boys” weren’t available at the LCBO. He failed to mention the shorties. I didn’t even know GLB had the 355ml cans. Too small anyway, LOL, you’ll have to put 2 in a glass.

Giving in....going to GLB tomorrow to get the new Octopus Wants To Fight New England IPA and Frust! An IPA with Passion Fruit. Hopefully they have some left.

Lock Street Brewing’s Zee Dunkleweizen. Nice light and easy drinking. Perfect for the mall. Lock Street opened a Biergarten at the Pen Center in St. Catharines.

Now having a High Hopes IPA from Fairweather in Hamilton. I really like what they are doing with their beer. Great IPAs and their sours are really nice as well.

No. Not as heavy as a stout. Not even as heavy as a porter. It was a lot like a brown ale just really dark. It was actually a really easy drinking beer.

Another good one out of Hamilton. Grain & Grit Brewing. Nice and hoppy with a hint of citrus and decent bitterness. They are right around the corner from Fairweather. Handy to get a few different ones.

GLB is probably by far the best marketed craft beer( and a great product), I have been for a number of events there, and Troy Burtch one of the sales/ marketers has always done an A++ job of looking after the attendees. They have a Christmas Market coming up,but unfortunately I am in Calgary when this is happening.
On another note my daughter gave me some Railway City beer ( St. Thomas, ) for my birthday, wasn't disappointed.

Retronym English IPA. Typically malted and slightly bitter. Nice change from all the American IPAs I usually drink.

You should go. If you check the website, you can see what is available in the fridge for purchase. They update it every few hours. I just got home from a friend’s place who gets a delivery from the local sales guy. Saves me from having to brave Toronto traffic.

lol....away from direct light, stable temp (ideally less than room temp), and stored on it's side and rotated periodically to keep the cork moist (to keep air out). I'll volunteer to taste but if it tastes like vinegar or it's flat then it's oxidized but if not then you're good to go. I'm guessing with that brand you may be ok but a lot depends on the cork (given the age) and the temp it was stored at...there is a chance it might be ok but you'll know by taste and the fizz.

just happened into the London LCBO the other day and they had the Apothic display up. The red and dark are my favorite wines by far. They had the limited edition Inferno which is red aged in whisky barrels and a new limited edition Brew. which is Red infused with coffee. grabbed a couple bottles of each and wish I grabbed more cuz both are fantastic.

Made a stop at Cowbell Brewing in Blyth on my way to the in laws just north of Kincardine today. Some good stouts, an oatmeal black lager, a hefeweizen and a session IPA. The food is very good as well. Definitely recommend stopping in if you’re out in western Ontario.

They have their core beers canned and available at the store. The darks were small batch series available on draft at the brewery. Some were available in cans but were no longer in stock. They were all good, and I would have got some cans if they had them. Could have gotten growler fills but I have enough to power through already [emoji6]

First impression: wow there’s a ton of sediment. Had to let it settle for 10 minutes.
Then is took me a while to figure out the taste I was tasting: green apple.
Tastes good, very smooth, don’t notice the alcohol much. Maybe it’s in the sediment? LOL

Sediment isn’t bad, it just means that the beer is unfiltered. Doesn’t affect the taste. I believe the underlying flavors are pineapple and of course citrus. I really like it. It’s too bad that it 10.2% cause after 2 I’m done. I am hoping that they make it a year round beer.

Had this one today, if you can find a fresh one, it’s very good. Steam Works Flagship IPA

I’d say almost as good. It’s a Brut as opposed to a double but it has a very similar flavour.

Was restocking the beer supply at the LCBO, when a guy noticed I was picking out IPAs exclusively. He says he’s in town from Michigan and is trying out some local beers, what would I recommend? Not sure if flirting or genuinely interested in beers. I gave him the following recommendations: Collective Arts No.8, Collective Arts Ramsack the Universe, and GLB Octopus Wants to Fight. I could have kept going, but hopefully that was a good sample of some of the best Ontario IPAs.

Their beer has a different flavour for sure. A lot of it is aged in whiskey barrels. I plan on stopping by their brewery in Edinburgh when I’m there in July. They apparently have a great restaurant attached to it. I’ll send you guys lots of pics [emoji6][emoji481]

The latest in the 7 Barrel series for Great Lakes. Citradiction, a low ABV extra Pale ale. Very good and doesn’t get you drunk from 2 like the double and triple IPAs I’ve been drinking lately. Recommend this one if you’re in the Etobicoke area and can get to the brewery.

16486 In St. Johns NL for 2 weeks and picked up these 4 winners from a craft brew contest run by the local Craft Brewer Quidi Vidi. They helped (what I Assume are 900 home brewers) get a chance to get some professional mentoring to brew their creation.

Haven't tried the Milky Way or Iron Cherry Sour yet, the others were excellent. 16485

Watching the Jays....definitely need this 8.4% Double IPA. Super hazy and clean with subtle citrus notes. Brought back from Pittsburgh by my Captain at work along with some others yet to be sampled.

Some recent beverages - both beers were great and the wines enjoyable. Coyote Run red was wondering so so as a medium bodied sipping wine but paired nicely with pasta dinner (tomato-based sauce) while the Mondavi as a full bodied red was good for sipping and with food.

Nope. No filter on that one. The New England style unfiltered IPAs are usually quite hazy due to the brewing process. Also I believe the use of Citra hops also contributes to the orange juice appearance.

They were all tasty although the EM (caramel/malt notes, smooth going down) and KS could have packed a little more flavour punch. The MT was very nice (a stronger flavour version of EM), lots of flavour but not hoppy and the Hefe will make a nice patio brew.

Pretty good. I would buy again.
Orange/ grapefruit smell , pretty light.
Clean finish doesn’t linger( spices )like some I’ve tried lately., easy drinking beer.

If you think you may or may not like IPAs, I would suggest Collective Arts Ransack the Universe. It’s just a really good beer. One of my go to favourite IPAs

If you go to the website of the brewery, you can order and have it delivered. Left Field has $10 flat rate shipping. Some have ridiculous shipping charges, some have flat rate, some have free shipping over a certain amount.
