David Mondavi Chardonnay. My wife has a glass when we were out for dinner and raved about it so I bought some bottles. I'm not really into wine beyond knowing I like the Pelee semi dry Riesling and most Shiraz but this one is pretty good.

5th anniversary of Rouge River Brewery. Had a nice AuJus#13 New England IPA, delicious. Picked up some Two Finger Snap, and some No Escape From Reality.

Yes, I wanted to try #2 as the owner had told me back in September that #1 was his best recipe to date so wanted to see how it evolved before I purchase the upcoming canned version.

I'm sure Au Jus #13 will be good too as #11 and #12 were tasty - I did already grab a couple cans of it since it was already available.

Another trip to RR, this time to pick up some Hopeye. On the way out, had to wait 5 minutes for some dude in a Lexus sporting all-season tires trying to get up the slight hill out of the parking lot. Those that have been to RR know the “grade” I speak of.

Also ordered some cider from the County. I’ve never been to Loch Mor, but plan to this summer. It’s right near my go-to winery, Sandbanks.

Bubble Tea IPA from Rorschach Brewing: wasn't sure what to expect given the description but was quite tasty. Enjoyed it this afternoon sitting on the porch enjoying the sunshine. It's their anniversary weekend so they were adding tapioca to the draft pours at the brewhouse.

Tasting Notes:

Bubble Tea has taken the world by storm due to its delightful combinations of flavours and texture from the added tapioca pearls (NO TAPIOCA PEARLS ARE IN THIS CAN). Yes the translation is correct......from the brewery:


Putin Huylo - roughly translates to "Putin is a Dickhead" in Ukranian, except slightly more rude

A big, bold, and hoppy 8% Belgian golden ale. Brimming with flavour and character, tons of deep stewed stone fruit, caramel, and spice. Off dry yet delightfully rich, it finishes with a bracing resinous bitterness.

The artwork on this can comes directly from Pravda and makes a statement that we can all agree with. This label can be found on their own bottles of strong golden ale, but Pravda has also previously manufactured Molotov cocktails sporting the same artwork to support the ongoing resistance fighting in Ukraine.

Proceeds from the sale of this beer will be donated to Pravda's "Brew for Ukraine" initiative, providing humanitarian aid and support to refugees and civil defence forces.

For this Epoch sour, we've embraced the heat and decided to have some fun with a classic summer treat --> ice cream! This version is "Peaches & Cream" containing peaches, vanilla and vanilla ice cream! Super refreshing, this is a nostalgic smoothie for you to enjoy.

"Smoothie-style" means you can expect a little thicker consistency than our original Epoch sours. The other very important difference is a substantial amount of fruit puree added to these beers that is not allowed to ferment. Because of that, you must keep these consistently cold (in your fridge) or additional fermentation will take place and they can burst. Keep them upside down as well to prevent all that fruit from settling and sticking to the bottom of the can. For extra fun, put in the freezer for an hour (set a timer!) and then drink.

Back in Aruba this week. Finally found a place to eat that has a fridge full of 40 different IPAs. This one from a brewery out in California.
I was getting tired of the tiny little bottles of Balashi beer they serve here.

The plate of wings with local papaya hot sauce were delish.
