Badlands March DIPA.
Very tasty, almost reminded me of a Cowbell Boxing Bruin with what tasted to me like a bit of a candy finish. Later, I decided it was apricot I was tasting.
Now that I look at the description on Untapped: “ March 2020 features a unique blend of Nelson Sauvin, NZH-107, Hallertau Blanc and Galaxy hops. We taste notes of creamy white grape, tropical fruit, melon and peaches”, it was peach I was tasting. LOL, I suck at identifying fruit flavours.

Yeah, I want to pick those up - trying to figure out timing to head there before they sell out. They don't do prepaid curbside pickup - regular walk-in retail. Juicebox looks like a regular as they had it a few weeks ago right after I picked up Dew/Bermuda etc.

Finally getting back on the road, have only been enduring the local Beer Stores selection.
Was in London today, and dropped by the Forked River Brewing Company, very helpful lady at the front desk, picked up a few of these:
Riptide Pale Ale Probably my favourite, nice flavour, not to hoppy.
Lo-Town American style Lager, pretty light (4.6%) by my standards, but very good quality. Probably made the mistake of drinking it after the 6.5% IPA (Interstellar IPA).

If I recall, Hazy State was quite nice - enjoyed Surround Sound as well. Don't remember the others as it's been a while since I've had them.



This was probably the one I most enjoyed and will have to grab some more (they're not available at all stores but a quick LCBO search helps; not sure if No Frills will have it)

All selections from this evening were very good in their own way.

The Badlands was Enigma with Citra hops. Awesome in typical Badlands fashion!

Anderson was a good DIPA and the TV Party was a good finish beer. 10% is lights out for me! Thanks Richard!!

Couple Richard trades. Subverse was good. The Henderson DIPA would have been better on a winter evening as it was aged in bourbon barrels and definitely tasted like it. Good beer, just not a summer beer.

Spent the afternoon in Brant County at Steel Wheel Brewery. Nice farm to table brewery with a makeshift patio in the grass out back. Apparently they have fresh scratch made farm to table food during normal times. Beer was decent enough but great on a hot sunny afternoon!

First time trying a Kensington brew (brewery is in a new location about 1 minute from Vaughn Mills mall) and this DNEIPA was quite good - smooth, tasty, and low bitterness. Haze Mama from GLB courtesy of Mike and as can be expected with GLB, a great easy drinking IPA.

Stopped in to Perth Brewery on the way up to Ottawa.
The Last Duel Lager is about the very last fatal Duel in Canada that happened here in 1833. I would buy it again.

Picked up 2 cases of Octopus Wants To Fight ....and a couple of six-packs of SteamWhistle for everybody else.
Then stopped at the LCBO for a case of Sandbanks Baco Noir Reserve (on sale $2 off each).

And some Baldwin Street Frankfurters. ...just because we’ll need to eat something.

Two brews - very different but both very tasty. Really interesting colour for the Red Fox - from Ontario beets, so I got my veggies? I felt the We Miss Growlers pretty quickly but it was worth it...thanks to Mike for the share as I was prepped to drive to Cambridge for pickup but they sold out even before i was ready to leave.

Wow, beautiful afternoon to sit outside - cloudless sky, nice constant breeze....perfect for a couple cold brews. Bandit's raccoon in space "Odyssey" is great and freshly canned Goblin Sauce DIPA from Bellwoods is tasty and easy drinking.

Yes, good surprise. They usually make Saisons and sours, the occasional traditional IPA. This was hazy and juicy, east coast style.

You’re right about a beautiful day Richard! Outside most of the day. Had some shared beers earlier. Some from Richard some from some other local friends.

The sour IPAs weren’t my favorite but were decent on this fantastic day.

Trill Bill was delicious! As were Love Trip and Strictly Business. Thanks Richard!

Haven't had any of the last 3 as yet but figured they'd be good as Bloodvar was so refreshing. Halo has been releasing sours so haven't gone back as yet.

The Halo beers were ok. Not my favorite style. More sour than ipa. I’ve had fruited IPAs before that aren’t so sour. Sometimes I think ‘just make the beer and don’t add anything too it!’
