Named after the County's own Bermuda triangle. located to the East to Wolfe Island and South to Oswego, NY. Over 100 shipwrecks have been documented in the area, including the mysterious tales of the Schooner Picton (1900) and the Bavaria (1889), Be wary, at 8.75% ABV this imperial IPA with heavy handed chinook hops grown locally by Pleasant Valley Hops, Citra and Pekko hop additions balanced with the malty profile of local Barn Owl Malt, may suck you in with no explanation. Juicy like a tangerine with 80% local ingredients.
ABV: 8.75% IBUs: 65

Amsterdam Brewery Fracture Imperial IPA - 9.1%
Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff (the one with the floaties) - 10.2%

Easy drinking and enough boozy 6.2 to keep a lightweight happy , will be one of my “ go to” beers but I don’t see these often at LCBO

I have passed this brewer (StoneHooker)over the last couple of months, on Lakeshore just east of Cawthra.
Dropped by tonight, they have been open about 4 months, nice cosy tap room to sample.
Trying the Sou Wester IPA, nice citrus flavour.

We both have high hopes for it. Will see in 2.5 months how it turns out. .

Same here - was surprised that they've been around so long. Just saw them pop up at our beer store earlier this year in bottles (6-pack) but haven't tried them until now. Found these at my local grocery.

Wasn't sure what ice-aged meant but it has the malty ale flavour but still crisp/clean with little after-taste. I went back and picked up a few more cans last night.

Barncat Artisan Ales in Cambridge. This one was good. Simcoe Pale Ale. Also got one called 36” Double IPA and one called Same IPA in 1L growlers. Have yet to crack those.

Last trip to the local LCBO was disappointing; nothing new and/or exciting. Ended up picking up some Octopus, Mad Tom, and Boneshaker. Mixed in with the Mad Tom by mistake was some Muskoka Brewery Harvest Ale.

Finally found a local LCBO with GLB Karma Citra ...so I picked up a case (24).
And then I stopped at Rouge River for some Planet of the APAs and a new one: One Finger Snap.

One of those beers where the first sip isn’t that great, but then it grows on you and finishes nice.

The Australian Ale also excellent. Caseys restaurant has Full Shadow on tap from Full Beard. Found it a bit bitter but decent.

It’s a generic label for limited releases. They usually put a sticker with the name and ABV on it. For some reason this one didn’t have it. It’s called Fjord Ranger. It’s a Nordic IPA. Different yeast and hops.

That was a horrible cold beer into an ice cold glass pour...foamed up like crazy. Was a really nice triple. I don’t normal like Belgian beers, they use a weird tasting yeast. This one was tops for me though. Would definitely drink it again.

You’d like this one I think. It’s a sweeter stout as opposed to a traditional export stout. I used to drink Guinness but I had one recently and it didn’t really taste like much.

Oh and I was on shift yesterday too. Tomorrow I’ll post pictures of my coffee and water[emoji6]

The BigHead Amber is definitely small batch and done on rotation so they don't make enough to supply LCBO. I think it's specific hops too so they only make when the get the right hops for it.

Badlands is close to Hwy 10 and King Rd (5 mins west) so not exactly at the Badlands but 10 minutes away.

For brownie points, bring the High Commander along for the drive up Hwy 410/Hwy 10, stop at Badlands farm, then head to Spirit Tree Cidery for lunch at their bistro (she can try their apple and pear ciders), stop in at GoodLot farm, stop in at Ray's in Alton for dessert, then drive through Forks of the Credit and head home. They're all 10 minutes apart from each other.

Travelling through the Halifax airport this week and picked up at the in Terminal Liquid Assets store some Saltbox Brewing from Mahone Bay.
Liked the Jeezus Murphy name, beer was okay but really enjoyed the North east IPA Dory Racer.

Will have to check out the LCBO. Last time I was there they didn’t have any, and GLB didn’t have any at the bottle shop.

Had lunch at 12 Gates Brewery in Williamsport (Buffalo) NY. Great selection of beers and the food was great too. Had an interesting chat with the owner as well. Lots of great stuff coming out of western NY.

That beer is a year old. No beer should last a year.

Not bad , lingering mellow bitter finish., drinkable,could drink a second one.( u know some are “ one is enough “ lol
Quite “ boozy” - I’m only half way and trying to finish some work ( paper) lol
Would buy again.
But I really like that “Thrust” by GLB - I picked up another 4 cans, expensive I think for 4 pop sized cans but I enjoyed them- guess that’s what counts-I’ve bought a few that were awful- couldn’t even drink half glass before dumping it lol

This brewer seems to be supported with the local restaurants, as Shoeless Joe's had their beer in cans. Usually find the chains (BP, Swiss chalet etc. Don't carry craft beers.18790

Thanks for the props, figure if I am on the road 1-2 weeks a month, I can check out some of the local brewers which are very easy to access. I use to be the guy buying a 24 of Coors Light for a weekend away, kind of become a beer snob, trying all the different brews out there. Hope my liver holds up.
