Anybody actually do this conversion? I'm just starting to research and see there a re a few manufacturers like Holley, Fi-Tech, Edelbrock, Summit, that offer a kit. Any input or advice will be appreciated. I've got a 1985 GT with stock motor and carb (128,000 kms). Is it worth the price of the conversion or do I just get a better aftermarket carb? Car is used for cruising around and possibly road course a few times.

Thanks,
Joe

Don with the nice black 85 GT (can't think of his screen name on the other board) did an EFI conversion on his a few years ago and is happy with it. I've heard that many people are having success with the Holley Sniper systems.

I'm currently putting a Holley Sniper on an 85 Jeep - replacing the factory two barrel carb. Kit is real simple form the most part. You will need to upgrade your fuel pump to make at least 60psi. Some kits come with everything you eg. fuel pump - The Holley Sniper is pre wired and just connects to the battery and ignition. The kit comes with an o2 sensor that can be clamped to the exhaust - we elected to weld a bung in the header - we should be cranking it over soon...I've been considering it for the Pace Car just not in the budget yet...best of luck!

Sniper is the better of the system’s available from what I’ve seen, but a lot of guys have had luck with FiTech

Done several Sniper installs, 4bbl plus one 2bbl on an International Scout, impressive results.
