"You've heard the rumors and you've seen the leaked CAD drawings. The car world has been speculating about overhead cams and turbochargers and flat-plane cranks in the backs of C8 Corvettes for months now, but we've confirmed with a deep source on the Corvette team that the upcoming C8R race car and, more crucially, the C8 Corvette Z06 will be powered by a flat-plane-crank twin-turbo dual-overhead-cam V-8."

I wish Ford/GM would build such a thing but electric to beat the shit out of that smug Musk fellow at his own game.

It was indeed spicy, but wow did I guess wrong on the used market prices.
In all seriousness, thinking this might be the greatest Vette ever produced from a performance total package standpoint

Not a fan of the sound of the flat plane crank. Vette or mustang.

Performance on paper looks impressive, but there is something about the max hp achieved at 8400rpm and 190ft/lbs less torque than the previous Z06 that has me thinking the fun factor will be reduced for a street car.

I replaced the heads before there ever was a problem. So, no after that the car never gave me trouble. Just wasn't a true "vette guy" and didn't want to keep spending on that platform.
I would do another C6 again one day though, they are the only Gen of Vette I really loved.

Fair on all accounts thanks for answering. C6Z long been a bucket list car for me, something about that generation just resonates with me.

You are certainly not alone, love them as well
My wife put a deposit down on a C8 Z06 and surprised me with it today. Maybe late ‘23 build, but may not be until 2024
^ Now that is cool, congrats.
