I wonder what's involved in doing this on a factory no-AC car?
I'm guessing the wiring is there but needs new AC version hvac box, new heater coil, ac pump, etc.... can you even buy new AC parts?
Factory AC stuff is a bolt in.

Could retrofit with "Vintage Air" - replace all the old linkage style switches with new electric they have a lot of cool stuff for after market heat and air

I believe Mustang4 did a conversion from R12 to R134 on his fox - a dealer in Hamilton I think? He had the old system but needed to change over the parts for R134....maybe he'll chime in.

^Usually that just takes a flush and some new fittings.
But yes, if you find a donor it will all just bolt up. You can buy everything new except the box will need to be a boneyard unit.

Just took a flush and new fittings. Currently, though I have some leaks to fix, so no AC working in the fox.
Ford dealer in Burlington did it, back in 2009.
