just bought a brand new oem flywheel for my 88gt.(I'm also installing new clutch and accessories) When I took off the old wheel there was a spacer in between the wheel and the crank around 1mm thick. I would guess this was maybe used if the flywheel had been resurfaced to take up the thickness machined off. But I never resurfaced the flywheel so I don't know for sure.
Are these types of spacers normal from the factory?

No, no spacer. On auto cars there may be a spacer between the bolts and the flexplate, but not on a stick car. Resurfacing would cause no need for this. There’s just no reason for it.
As said above, no spacer is to be used. Some sort of a previous Mickey Mouse repair if there was one.

Mickey Mouse loves repairing my car! Disney seems to own everything nowadays.
Quick update for anyone reading in the future. I DID NOT reuse the spacer and everything seems fine.
