Took my 83 vert for a first run today, and the clutch cable molded strain relief at the bell housing broke, barely got home.
I have the Steeda double quadrant, and wanted to see if any one is using this replacement cable?

Strongly suggest, OEM Ford or Maximum Motorsports clutch cables only. All others are just too prone to premature failure (yes including Ford Racing version).

The price of the OEM Ford is a real kick in the groin, but after the pain subsides it's worth it.
MM version is same quality but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper.
Unless Ford's drop price.

This one was a Ford Original if I recall correctly, put it in 2005

OEM
Not at all common to have a problem with one unless running long tubes / routed too close to cable.
I thought Ford discontinued the OEM foxbody clutch cable.

I had put the header wrap on the cable, shortly after installing it in 2005, could smell it burning back then.
I grabbed the Steeda unit as they are 15 minutes from me, and figure for the limited drive time I get behind the wheel it will probably out live me.
Funny when I compare the 2 cables, they have similar molded markings, wonder if the manufacturer ran an off brand for Steeda etc.?
Is the cable itself adjustable?
Pic of the fork end?

On the road this week will post some comparison pics this weekend, swear they are the same cable.

Here are some comparison pictures, can't really tell the difference.
The original bill shows it as a Ford adjustable cable, other than the made in Taiwan labelling on the new cable.

Both are offshore cables.
OEM / original equipment cable is totally different and dramatically higher quality.
