I was 14 when all this started. It was, even then, a true legend. Henry Ford II had such a hissy fit when Ferrari turned him down for a buyout that he literally decided to wage war on Ferrari. He took a multi Billion Dollar company and committed UNLIMITED funds to beat Ferrari. He didn't care what it took. And he, along with Carrol Shelby, Pete Brock, and Ken Miles (probably one of the best race drivers who ever lived)and who knows who else, did it.
Very likely one of the greatest stories in racing history. I sincerely hope to movie pays proper respect to the legend.

Holman Moody Racing was part of the development program on these cars too, I don't think that they get their fair share of credit. They still do a bunch of prep work on them for people running the cars in historic and vintage racing, and building new versions of them too:

Ford destroyed the competition back then with the GT40 and the 427 FE side oiler engine.

GT40 was/is an awesome looking car even to this day and beyond this day,like forever.
