I'm still tempted to finish the project (paint) before doing anything, it's not like foxes are getting cheaper and when I sell it, I want it to be a turn-key car with a real happy new owner and a happy wallet on my end and TBH... meh don't really feel like selling it anymore.
Personally I don't like black notchbacks. My choices would be:
Reef blue

Kona Blue

Titanium Grey

Nothing crazy as you can see. And the job would be properly done meaning it will look 100% factory. If I respray I will tear it down (no glass, no interior, no k-member)... anyway just thinking outloud.

Have you considered accepting Calypso Green as your lord and savior?

True Blue

Paint it either the original colour or one of the factory colours for the foxbody. White IMO looks damn sexy on a notch, also a couple of other great choices would be Calypso Green or Bimini Blue.

looks like black is a desired color too... I don't like it all that much, what sucks is I did all this detail work and black is just so boring. I like the clean crisp and straight frame rails but they don't show as nice in black lol call me crazy.
I don't think a color change will hurt the car as it's not stock anymore and it's not a rare 5,000 mile survivor car anyway.

Black done right is probably one of the most difficult and best colours - some other colours can also be a challenge but black done right will stand out...

yeah we talked about it... strip down to metal to start fresh... etching, primer, etc... thin layer of plastic, blocking, primer, base, clear, wet sand (I think that's the order?) Anyway tons of work for sure for a deep glass shine and straight sheet metal. Just aligning the body panels to be better than factory is a pain on these cars lol

my biased opinion says black notch is the best notch,
but something like a modern Lava Red might look cool, it's almost black.

There use to a notch similar to the colour you described i Shelburne and it was one of the nicest foxes I've every seen.

I would go with a factory colour vs. a modern colour. To me the "newer" colours for the most part do not belong on a Fox and cheapen the look. With that being said it is your car but I also think potential buyers will have reservations about non stock colours.

I think I'm back to black again... I'd like to pull the engine this weekend and start the next level OCD on the thing. But I still have fucking landscaping / decking to do :(

There was a notch around shelburne area that was painted 1975 mercury comet powder blue and it looked good
