I am moving towards all electric at some point, I have an electrician coming over this summer to upgrade my panel and put a 100amp sub in the garage for car charging stations (2)... and I'm making a charging station for drill and lawnmower batteries... but down to basics, I don't want another gas lawn mower so in the market for electric, anyone have luck with those?

I've narrowed it down to 2 best ones which seem to be the 56v eGO and the 80v Kobalt from Lowes. Wife wants me to get the 40v Kobalt since it's on sale - I figure that may work too, I don't own a farm and the property is only around 130x60 and my house is over 3000sqft plus a 3 car garage so not much lawn left over... lol I can get the lawn done in about half-beer time.

Home Depot has the Ryobi 40V on for $298 this weekend.
This is great mower. I'm a bit biased though as I now own quite a few Ryobi one tools.

If I was going electric, I would have to get one of these robotic ones.
Or better yet if you have that little lawn go with synthetic grass and never mow againhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190414/fa1f71b4a89a33927ea610e23170a15c.jpg

Cool, but $1700?

+1 on getting rid of grass all together. We went with all landscaping.

When my gas one goes, I will be going electric, but probably corded as I keep these things for 15-20 years, and think the batteries are only going to last maybe 5-6 years?

I bought a new Toro zero-turn commercial grade 60" lawn mower last summer. 28 horsepower twin. Top speed 18 mph, will turn in it's own length.
We cut about 3 acres of our property. My old 48" Cub Cadet rider mower would take 8-10 hours. It was an entire (long) day or better, a whole weekend, so we didn't do it as often as we should, so of course the grass grew long(my grass can get to a length of 1' in 3 weeks), so of course it took longer.
The Toro can do the entire freaking property in 3 hours, and since it goes so fast its way more fun.

so.... 40v is enough? I suppose with two batteries it wouldn't matter anyway.

I wonder if Trudeau will force tax payers to help buy my next lawn-mower... those things pollute much more than cars. lol

If I had such a big property, I think I'd turn it into a mud bog, charge the Jeep guys $50 to get their junk dirty LOL

Electric?

Gas engine. I don't think they make an electric commerical grade mower.
