According to the local paper, Fines Ford in Bolton was one of the dealerships that reported this to the authorities after their service department found something amiss with the spare tire during a PDI.

My Fusion was built in Mexico, before production was moved to Flat Rock Michigan (Mustang plant).

I have never looked at the spare....maybe I should! LOL

I recall cases in the last few years where spare tires were being stolen from under vehicles in dealer lots, local chev dealer was cleaned out of spares in their trucks, to the point that they started removing them and storing inside,

wonder if its been happening for a while

My local Ford dealer, in the country, started putting wheel locks on every new car they received. Too many wheels disappeared over night.


Now down this way there is a crime spree where side by sides, trailers, trucks, snow mobiles are being stolen off lots. In one case they broke through a wall to get to items inside.

I think I have only needed a spare twice in the past 10 years, and if I had a pump I probably could have made it home.
